Hello!
My grandfather subscribes to the german pack but he says that often what you see in the programming guide doesn't match what's actually being shown. For example, last night the guide showed something like 6 hours of programming where all shows on MGTV, MGTV+ and one other (don't remember) were "off air". This is confusing since a) there was programming when you tuned into those channels, and b) the "off air" segments shown on the guide matched the length of the programs you saw (ie. one hour, etc.).

Re-loading the programming guide didn't work...both through forcing it to download from the guide and also by powering off the receiver for a minute and then powering back on.

Programming was shown on the guide from around midnight onward and through the next few days.

This happens regularly. He only subscribes to the German package, so I'm not sure how to compare with other channels, though DWTV seems to always be up to date.

He uses a VIP 222K reciever.

I don't know much about DishTV as I've never had satellite service, so thank-you in advance!

P.S. - From what I've read on the forum, many of you miss the Bundesliga games that used to play all day as part of the german package. My grandfather is with you on this, and still mentions it to this day (several years later).

I had the German channels years ago.. I recall the guide was sometimes mismatched on those channels. I remember reading in some other posts re: guide issues and the story as I understand is that Dish actually gets the guide information from other sources (like the channel companies themselves) or companies that compile the information. Dish just 'drops' the info into the guide.. so their source(s) are not giving them accurate information. And since compared to other channels (here in states) they probably don't do a lot of checking... And even then they probably don't know if it's right/wrong because they don't know German (or any of the German shows).
