Dean & Rog is still on the air, just listened to them this morning for my drive in. They still do some of the "extras" that you mention. Others, not sure if they are still around.
No they are gone. Hudson & Harrigan were on KILT and the station just decided to eliminate the duo, which had been around since the '70s. There were several different people that played the roles. Same story on KLOL for Stevens & Pruett. Both of them have since passed away. Ironically they were one of the first ones to play Hudson and Harrigan over on KILT-AM when it was a rock station.

I would like to hear more background about the music and groups. What about interviews and stories about how the songs came to be. What inspired the artists, and what are they doing today.
A show called, "The Lost 45's" with Barry Scott does that probably the best of anyone. He has a website, facebook, twitter, the works...and from there
you can probably find an affiliate. 3 hours once a week, and if you're lucky, the "daily" version as well.
His show is doing great in syndication from Boston, but the flagship station on which he did it cancelled it, strangely enough.
We get plenty of Boston listeners on our stream Saturday nights. Good guy, good show.
That's what I thought. I lost track of Barry when WODS flipped to CHR and his show obviously didn't fit the new format. Did he go to WROR after?
Not sure where he does "fulltime" gig, but still crankin' out the great show....which we're proud to carry on Saturday nights, 6-9 PM on WION....love watching our internet listenership go UP when he's on!
Lost 45s is a great show. I follow the logic presented by Corey Taylor (of Slipknot and Stone Sour fame). Most people who are big into heavy metal listen to numerous eras and genres of music. For people who enjoy the golden era of music, Scott plays stuff that is difficult to hear in other places.
Do you guys sometimes listen to your own song remixes when driving? I really got into it thanks to this: How to Remix a Song — 18 Effective Tips. The Whole Way. I's a really good guide for those who want to start doing it.
That I don't do. That is very interesting. I know a couple of guys who teach DJing to students. But, I never got into it myself.
I used to play Yes and Moody Blues etc loud at night in near darkness, and basically got drunk listening. No booze required.
Haven’t had time to do that in many years.
I rarely listen to music or really, anything else on the radio. Commercials have just ruined it for me. I mostly listen to Pandora.
