Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

I do not think so. Crack is just cosmetics and almost do not affect performance. Of course if price is a bargain than why not have this nice dish. I also think that crack can be easily fixed, so, no one will ever notice there was one.

Not really you must reinforce it well, the signal on an off dish is not affected on the bottom, that is why you could have snow 5 inches up from the bottom and not affect it, but the top part is

That is for sure Channel Master, but not necessary 1.2m, it can also be 1m dish. Feedarm is bended, all nuts&bolts are rusted, but what is worst- the lower part of has cracks. View attachment 134966

Edit: MS, you are so fast! :)

Are you sure it has cracks? It looks like two zip-ties looped together, hanging on the lower feedarm. You can make out the lower zip tie. Feedarm does not look bent abnormally either.

I'm only looking at the picture posted here, original ad doesn't seem to have that pic anymore.

Examined the picture more carefully.... I still think it is a crack. However, it also look like zip-ties, but they are not hanging on the bottom feedarm, not even touching it from above. Side feedarm bended, but you are right it is not so badly. Does not matter, I think the dish is gone. .

When they were worth something, I did fix one with a crack in about the same place I cleaned with white vinegar which is a mild acid and from behind I took a Dremel drill with a cutting disc and cut a channel across the crack that cracks would need about 20 cuts, also used sandpaper to rough it up than I took rg59 coax wire, removed the solid copper wire and laid it into each crack, as rebar, covered it up with something like this stuff is, it worked, keep in mind you can cut off 20% of the bottom of an offset dish, and it won't hurt the signal, that's why snow doesn't affect them on the bottom

I've fixed a couple in a similar way in the past its the best way to do it imho, ive used this stuff
Code:
https://www.amazon.com/272-Bondo-Glass-Fiberglass-Reinforced-Filler/dp/B000VKZ3JM
once sanded and a little paint you would never know it was there, far better than bodging a bit of plastic on them once the above stuff has gone off its as good as new.

It's not all plastic if it was you would not have a reflector, there is a metal mesh under the plastic

Most of the large "free" dishes around here are people looking to sell their property and the realter tells them to remove the dish to improve curb appeal. The last few dishes I have seen on kajiji locally have been the same story. The latest one I picked up was an Andrews I now have pointed at 97W, works awsome!

Did hope to pick up a 12' CM dish on a 25' pole but the cost for the crane and permits was prohibitive, would have been cheaper to purchase a new one! The fellow did sell his property dish and all, but the last drive-by the dish was gone. I suspect they just unscrewed the mounting bolts and let it fall, and off to the dump it went.

Heh. Realtors sure are dumb. I'd pay extra for a house that came with a large satellite dish pre-installed. Taking away a perfectly good pre-existing installation to improve a house's value? That sounds about as dumb to me as having a house wired up for fiber and then cutting the line to increase the value. Would I rather be able to glance outside of my window occasionally and see a slightly emptier yard where a satellite dish would be, or would I rather be able to look towards my TV screen and see it showing hundreds of HD and 4K pristine quality feeds that I'm getting for free with my C band dish? Not a tough choice to make.

Just goes to show you should never listen to "the experts" in any given subject without doing your own research as to whether or not they are full of it! If I were selling a house I'd be telling my realtor to beat it while I put on a demonstration of the 4K channels on SES-1 on a 4K TV... ;)

Yes the owner confirmed its a 10 footer. i wasn't sure of the make/model. is Unimesh/Laser a good dish?

Not the absolute best, but far from the worst. It's worth going for if you want one. Make sure you also take the pole, as that alone is worth at least $100 if you have to buy one. Cut the actuator wire as long as you can also, as if you end up using something else, that flexible end makes a good section to splice to if you are forced to use solid wire to the house.

Take at least one other guy with you when you get it, and try to remove it whole if possible. It also looks like you'll need a couple of 8 or 10 foot stepladders to help with removal.

Free!
1.2 meter Primestar dish in the area of Poulsbo, WA.
This one is white, while the others I have are grey.
The only thing wrong with it is the plastic horn holder is missing, but I think you can still buy them. The three holder pipes come from the dish but the plastic piece that holds them together, is missing.
All you have to do is come and get it.
