On the old interface, if you were watching something that you were recording, the unwatched (between where you are and the live TV) would show as orange on the progress bar. Now it's gray. We talked about it a lot last year when it changed. They have changed the shade of gray so that the contrast is better than it was when they first did it. It's not like the blue line, the orange line is the record progress bar or whatever.
I think those are gone for good but I liked them as well. I suspect they slowed the guide down and due to hardware limitations on processing power it's possible the mini's just can't fluidly handle it. Just a guess.
I basically like the new GUI except for one nagging little thing. With the old interface, when you selected "Other Showings" for an episode of a series, you would see a list of showings for ALL the upcoming episodes of that series rather than just the one episode you are viewing. With the new interface I have to do a search for the series to see all upcoming episodes. That requires a number of extra steps. Am I missing something?

Agreed. I liked the old way better because it allowed me to pick and choose different episodes of a series.
“Other showings” as we once knew it is now under “all seaons>Upcoming airings”
Press INFO, then select more info>all seasons>upcoming airings
I see we have a new screen saver... Gone is the logo and we now have landscape scenes from across the country.

Ridiculous. For one the image stays on too long before changing. Also, the time and D* logo stays on the lower right portion of the screen indefinitely.
Not good for OLED or Plasma owners, or any owner, for that matter.
I just tried mine, 6 minutes in the D*/globe logo popped in moving across the screen slowly.
Where are you guys seeing something different ?

Mine shows randomly. The Death Star/DirecTV screensaver pops up after 5 min or so. Occasionally, it will switch over to the photos, but not every time...
It seems to not be there anymore, I haven't seen it in a few days. The scenic screensaver appears instead of the AT&T globe. The screensaver isn't CE related, people on NR were seeing it, too. I think the people on CE have the time in the lower left with the scenic screen saver where it is at the bottom on the NR, judging from pics I have seen.
Don't know, I don't remember ever seeing the Time on the screen saver ... I don't see the screen saver very often and really don't pay much attention to it.
The time is only on the scenic picture version of the screen saver.
I should also mention that the time (And Directv logo) don't move on the new screen saver - they were always in the same place in the lower right of the screen on 1143, even when the picture changed. Keeping something in the same place on the screen on a screen saver seems counter-productive.
Not much of a screen SAVER if part of the screen doesn't MOVE.
Q. How long would you expect the screen to be paused before a screen saver comes on ?
What would You make it if the call was yours ?
I think 5 minutes is too long.
