X2 premium finally died after only 2 years. Took it apart and found 4 swollen capacitors in it. Replaced them and still no luck. Has power out of the power board but its gone. I havent even looked at new receivers until now.

I dont need anything fancy, just one that will do S2 video, AC3 audio, and USALS for the Ku motor. Almost forgot, and a good quality blind scan. Looking on ebay all I have seen are from $25 to $50. Have they gotten that cheap over the years or are they just cheap chinese clones

About all I have watched lately is either 97 Ku or 91 ku for the four news feeds on there

Thanks! Ill keep that saved on ebay. That should do the job perfectly, unfortunately it is way out of my price range currently. Ill have to wait for the trusty tax return next spring before I can grab that :(

The guys here definitely like the new Amiko units, but as you said your budget doesn't allow for it. I'd stay away from X2 units if you are moving a motor with it. My X2 M1HD and M1HD+ will crash and reboot trying to move a H2H motor. If you're using a dish mover, its not a problem. There are plenty of cheap Chinese junk receivers full of bugs, without AC3, and without support or updates. Having said that, several members have bought the V7 and V8 models and don't seem to have any particular complaints except not being able to add PIDs.

I must of got real lucky on my X2 box, it had no problems moving a motor with a 33" dish on it. Took right off first time every move. Unless thats what fried it may of moved it one too many times.

I ended up getting a cheapo ebay special simply to get by for now since thats all I can spare on one for the moment. Havent found any reviews on it here but I guess I will find out. I know the motor still works since I have a Satlink Ws-6916 that I tested the rest of the system out to make sure nothing got blown out. Found that on ebay last fall super cheap as an open box new item. Worked perfectly

Yes, the Amiko Mini HD265 will be back in stock next week I hope! At least that is when they should land.

Koqit K1 (black one with the curved in front). It does move a Ku dish motor without locking up or rebooting randomly in the transit. A little slow, but moved it spot on

No the last firmware came out a couple of months ago. Mostly stuff for Eur. I have not heard of anything new.

I am testing though. If nothing strange for NA, will ship it on new boxes.
As I sell some to over seas, so might as well be up to date. :)
