I'm glad I got in under the radar on this last month when I added Longhorn Network for a weekend to show the Iowa State / Texas game....saved me about $17 lol
 
Maybe you could ask them to transfer the balance as a credit to your new Dish account.

Makes sense. They won't issue refunds but your service will continue until the end of the billing period. Bell TV in Canada has had this policy in place for years. I'm surprised it them this long to do it. Dish will be next.
