Only issue I've had is Finder no longer remembers a multiple tab layout. Hopefully that will be restored with next update.
Okay, you convinced me to upgrade. 35 minutes later and here I am to join you. It's nice that my MacBook Pro is nice and toasty as the system optimizes everything, keeping my fingers toasty on the keyboard!

VPN works, no re-install needed, but that warmth I reported this morning I figured was due to Indexing is still happening. Plus, I took the MacBook Pro off the charger around 8:00 and 3h22m later I'm at 32% battery

Well, that's most unhappy. I figured I'd spend part of Friday night updating the Family MacMini to Mojave and whoops! It's a mid-2011 MacMini 5,2 which is one year too old to take the 10.14.x update. I suppose as long as Apple keeps releasing Security Updates for High Sierra I won't have an issue, but my wife likes the Mini and I'd probably jest get a newer version. Oh, but wait, Apple hasn't had a new MacMini since 2014! Technically, that would buy us only a year (assuming Apple keeps with the 5-year planned support of their Macs) so a shiny new Late-2018 MacMini is the only real choice.
Oops, I guess the watchOS update was "expected soon", not released. I don't have one so I wouldn't know. I'm doing the tvOS 12.1.1 update on my ?TV right now.
One thing different with Mojave is where you look for the macOS Updates. It's now part of Settings, like the rest of the Apple devices, instead of the App Store. I ended up going to "About this Mac" and pressed the "Software Update..." button.
To be fair, Cisco does not list anything past OS X x10.8 for the AnyConnect v3.x client. Our Company was being rather stingy on paying to upgrade to v4, but they finally did so.

Microsoft absolutely does intentionally engage in that kind of activity, but the longevity of their operating systems is perhaps much greater because of the gubmint agencies that require such things.
Windows 7 has been available for over eleven years and it still meets the requirements for almost all off-the-shelf Windows applications software. TurboTax* requires MacOS Sierra (10.12) that completely invalidates Macs prior to the 2010 models.
* I use TurboTax as an example because it represents a class of software that offers utility for pretty much everybody and it has to be updated every year.
And to be frank, Cisco software (both Windows and routers) is often pretty wheezy and comes with its own laundry list of bugs and vulnerabilities.
Without starting a new thread, Apple dropped the latest version (10.14.3) of Mojave today, along with updates for High Sierra (v10.13.6) and Sierra (v10.12.6).
There's a new Safari update as well.
