DMYCO Receiver

Could be a good investment from what I saw on their website. Their website is a bit lacking on information, like Demodulation (QPSK,8PSK,16APSK,32APSK), and whether or not it will come with a USA wall wart. It makes it nice when all the specifications are listed on the website. I assume you got a price?

Yes there web page is not very informative use information from the Octagon 8008 its the same unit, including shipping my Uclan worked out at £92 pre-order ,

This seller is the cheapest in uk for the Octagon they are awaiting stock, they work out at £109

I'll be waiting for the review but it looks like there are known problems already. It really irritates me that these manufacturers don't take the time to fix this stuff before putting these up for sale. One issue that I noted in a post was that the SQ readings are inaccurate. Kinda difficult to compare notes with others without a calibrated signal strength and signal quality meter.

Keep a eye on this thread from what i can see bugs are getting fixed asap, i personally take no notice of signal strengths it locks a weak signal or it doesn't, the tbs 5925 is one of the more expensive units i own and its rubbish for fringe reception the cheap Freesat V7 £20 walks all over it.

I wish China would stop their TOS activities because from what I've seen, some of their receivers work exceptionally well compared to others on the market. If they'd put their R&D departments to work on developing legal FTA receivers that had everything FTA users are looking for, they could capture the lion's share of the market.

It would force the other manufacturers to do a lot more testing before releasing units with flawed software and hardware, and poorly designed features, like a boatload of IPTV links that don't work. I was never really interested in IPTV, but it would be nice to be able to see what's out there instead of using links that go nowhere. All of the receivers I've used are pretty weak when it comes to their IR remotes and sensors in the receivers. My living room is 24 feet long and some of them just won't work at that distance without an IR extender.

I translated the page via Google translate and in fact it looks like the price is 45.10 USD. However it appears they don't have in stock. I have emailed them regarding shipping to the US.

:welcome to SatelliteGuys mememeth!
Yes, that is what is going on. Don't have one to help you out exactly. Does the remote have a v.format button or something similar?

thanks for reply, no i cant find anything about format or resolution, manly got so i could play with e2 images before i get one of the better stb, edision , vu plus, or the sf8008, so now that mike has the sf8008, and brian will have the edision mio, maybe casey will have the vuplus, good to see dealers in the usa so we can support them.

Try plugging it in some different computer monitors. I ran into the "format not supported" with a Freesat receiver. I got that message from two computer monitors and the third one said "change the resolution to 1080p" I could switch between PAL and NTSC with no difference and no picture. It had RCA jacks on it so I plugged it into my old TV and the menu displayed and I was able to switch it from 1080i to 1080p and all was well.

ok, thanks guys, i sort of beat you all to the punch, i tried the stb on another newer (4 year old) samsung tv , and it works, now to learn how to setup the confusing menus, did get to scan one bird, lower east, maybe 24-27-30w, have to check sathint for chanels, looks like it might have scanned 2 or 3 times, slow learning curve for my 70 + year old brain, but just something to play with beforg getting a good box ( sf8008 or vuplus or os nimo or os mio, ) still trying to shake the tree on that, again thanks to all, ps does anyone have a n.a. listing for the d4s ?

Multiple channel scan indicates that the LNB setting is incorrect for the type of LNBF on your dish. Likely the dish has a standard type LNBF with single LO of 10750 and the receiver settings are configured for a universal type with dual LO 9750/10600.
