@ on the Guide

Has anyone else seen a plethora of just "@" on the guide for sporting events?

Example would be: Indiana is taking on SW Missouri State at 7pm. You click on guide and instead of having Indiana vs. SW Missouri State, you see just see "@"

Is AT&T really getting that lazy and not updating the guide?

From what I'm seeing, it's happening on ESPN News Only (only one I remember seeing it on), the other ESPN's have the correct guide info ...
And No Att is not getting lazy and not updating the guide ...
ATT/D* doesn't control the guide.

That could be intentional from ESPN, or a screw up from the Tribune (I think they still do the guide).
Guide may have changed since Tribune, not sure, but it's whoever is running the Guide info currently, not D*/Att ... or espn.

I've noticed it a bunch on ESPNU over the past few weeks - very annoying.
I can't think of any reason this would be a strategy for ESPN.

I have seen it on a bunch of channels - more than just ESPN News and U. I really do think it's a Directv issue with the guide - other providers seem to figure out what is on and not show "@" on their guide.

I think it's an ESPN thing ...

Maybe it's part of thier @ campaign ...

Everytime I see it, there is a basketball game scheduled ....
Haven't seen it on any channels outside of ESPN's.

It is bad. I believe that it is related to holiday tournaments, where who is playing is not known until the previous day. For example, it was used for the Hawaiian Airlines Christmas Tournament, where there was a field of 8 with full consolation games (every team played 3 games). So they do not know who is playing in which game until the previous day's results. In previous years they would just list it as "College Basketball" and the extended description would be "Hawaii tournamnent, 5th place game" or like that.

Another bad recent sports change is long descriptions in the extended descriptions. Like the banner will be "College Basketball" for neutral site games, and the description will be "The Wildcats look to bounce back from a loss to the Bulldogs, which dropped them to 12-5, while the Tigers are off a big win over the Mountaineers". There are multiple teams. Which Wildcats? Used to read "Kentucky @ Missouri" Better.
