Here is what my system looks like today. it all still works well. I haven't had to replace anything yet. My dish still has a little slop from day 1I am not sure how to get out or where it's coming from. i can only go to 55W -139W. I can't go much farther east or the dish just falls to the ground. I have tried tightening it up as much as i can but looks like trees block the signal much past 55 West.

55W - 139W is about the best you can hope for in most instances, and not that bad. MANY older polar mounts aren't quite "balanced" right due to their design, and have a phenomenon known as "flop-over". Which is your "or the dish just falls to the ground" statement.

Don't worry, be happy! You could always add a STOP bolt in the right spot, that physically will STOP the dish from being capable of "flopping over".

flop over yeah that what you call it! Yeah it will flop over haha. so where does the stop bolt go? Thanks for your reply

It depends on your particular polar mount. You would have to study it, and decide where to put it to block the mount from moving past it.

Also, try reading this (click the link) and see what you can do with your dish to match. It all depends on how much work you want to do: Dish flop

I sent it too fta dude. I will send to Scott. Not sure of the moderator of the forum

Sent from my VS995 using the SatelliteGuys app!

I see nothing posted by the OP that suggests hacking. If so it would be dealt with swiftly.
Not sure what links you guys are sending around to each other, but there is nothing on this board.
I can't ban someone for "he said/she said".

I looked at this thread and some previous posts and don't see anything indicating that. Perhaps I've missed something. If so, could you provide a link? Thanks! :)

EDIT: Link received from Mikel does appear to confirm what he suggested. :(
I looked at the link. It has nothing to do with Conway asking about fixing his system.

Thanks. I will do some studying on when it gets warmer. Not sure what you mean about a illegal system. I purchased from tek2000. METV has really good shows on 101 West!

Conway, if you click on this link to our "What's Up There" forum and don't already have access, ask a mod to give you access. This is our protected forum where we post details on channels and feeds we find up there. There's some good stuff that likely isn't posted elsewhere. https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/forums/fta-whats-up-there.31/
