I’ve been doing a bit of watching on this new Amazon channel. Not bad at all and the ads are not even as often as is the paid Hulu app. After you subscribe to the channel it is then available on other platforms inside the Prime video app.

This sucks for Prime subs, as it looks like more content that would normally be commercial free for Prime members will now be ad-supported:

Amazon’s Free Streaming Service Renamed IMDb TV, Triples Amount of Content

From the article:
In January, Amazon launched their free streaming service called IMDb Freedive which is similar to The Roku Channel and Tubi. Starting today, the company has renamed the service, IMDb TV, and tripled it’s content selection through new deals with Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, and MGM. The ad-supported service offers free TV shows and movies with “half the ads of network TV”, according to Amazon.

Starting July 1st, you can stream Academy Award-nominated films like Captain Fantastic and La La Land, as well as Draft Day, Sense and Sensibility, and A Knight’s Tale. In addition, you can stream TV series like Fringe and Heroes, in addition to reality shows like Kitchen Nightmares, Duck Dynasty, and The Bachelor.
