any chance for a new dual tuner ota dongle?

Update on AirTv replacement. Replacement turned around next day, due in tomorrow according to the tracking number.

Came in yesterday as scheduled. UPS was the problem there. If I had ordered a pair of socks from Amazon it would have arrived at 7 am. Since it was something I was waiting for it came in at 7 pm (6:58 to be exact) My wife is taping the damn Australian Open Tennis Tournament and you have to reboot when you change out the module soooooo finally got it switched out about 3 pm and everything is running peachy keen. Over all a very good experience with the folks at AirTv.

Luckily, their Buyer Protection policies take care of customers who are abused by dishonest sellers. I've had to use it a few times myself

Yeah eBay buyer protection has been pretty good.

Take 1 extra step and fund with a credit card and you can’t go wrong.

eBay and PayPal have gone long ways to protect buyers and sellers.

Without going into details I know one PayPal policy that actually cost PayPal money making the situation right for a customer.

Have removed cm 7777 from antenna and re-positioned antenna to max signal on all available channels with all but one coming in at 100% and that one at 90+; problem is still have some pixelation happening. Have ordered line filter and will see if that helps. Goes for hours with no problem and then sometimes it acts up every 5/10 mins, not major.

Help me understand this...I have a hopper/sling with 1 joey. This dual ota adapter only connects to the hopper and not the joey?

My plan was to get two separate dual ota tuners in each room but I don't think I can do that with this setup. I would probably need two hoppers or two wallys. Yeah or nay?

The OTA channels are fed to the Joey by the HWS. You don't need two separate tuners :)

Okay thanks. I sort of understand that. I had a 722k with an mt2 module and the ota channels showed up in the guide on tv2.

What about his scenario. If I dropped the locals from dish to save $12 and installed a dual usb ota adapter. Let's say I'm recording two ota channels on TV1(hopper). I wouldn't be able to tune to any other ota channels on TV2(joey) until TV1 has finished recording?

That is correct. You are only able to use 2 OTA channels at any time.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for confirming.

I guess if I had two wally's I could put an adapter on each and that would solve my problem.

Yes, but if you want to record anything, you'd have to have 2 external hard drives, one for each Wally. And the Wally's can't "see" each other, meaning you couldn't watch the recordings from one on the other.

Don't you have a tuner on your TV? It means you'd have to run an antenna line to each TV, which I have. Anytime all the Hooper tuners are occupied I just switch to the TVs tuner if there's a 3rd OTA I want to watch.
Yes I do have a tuner on each tv. I can run separate lines to each tv and will probably end up doing that. :thumbup

Okay got it. The wally's not being able to see each other isn't a problem. TV2 is used by a family member who watches their own programming and hardly ever uses the dvr.

Two Wallys would definitely be the cheaper option, but I thought I should point out that one Hopper and one Wally would also work. If you don't want to lose access to any existing recordings, you should keep a Hopper, since there is no way to play Hopper recordings on a Wally.

Installed line filter and got no improvement; Seem though that certain times of day are more prone to pix than other time. During most prime time it seems to have less and during news hours it has more pixelation. Would like to try the dish module but hate to spend 50 just to try it. Maybe price will drop.

Get the one from AirTV. $29.99 and same product.

Could it be some kind of solar conjunction, with the sun lining up directly behind the broadcast tower at that time of day? I know that can cause issues with satellite signals, but I am not sure about OTA.
