And I agree, the 211Z is the worst. I don't understand why it even exists in the first place, when the 211K is superior in every way to the 211Z. And of course, all we have right now are the Z model....smh

I would never want the vip211z. The 211k which I still use, was one of the best best receivers ever. No internet access, but still the outboard HDD and the OTA tuner, works great. I would but another if I needed one. As long as I can get one, that is... I have the Firestick that gives me the Dish Anywhere app, so combined it is great.

The Z was maybe a dollar or two cheaper to produce than the K because of no OTA tuner or component and channel 3 outputs so that's probably why they made them.

Somebody told me the other day that they cancelled their account and Dish didn't want the 211K's back so it looks like they won't be around much longer either. :(

They don't want any VIP's back anymore, but I still retrieve them since the company gets credit for sending them back

Yes, they are still activating 211k
Thanks for the reply...Need to call the customer loyalty dept and see if they will work with me on new contract..Ican start a new account but If I remember correctly they won't reactivate the 222k on a new account.
