Vizio TV question could be part of dish too

Hello I need some help with something I have a Vizio m series ultra 4k he had it connected to the hopper 3 DVR light comes on the tv but no picture hopper 3 DVR is connected to the TV via HDMi cable to the tv. Could you please tell me what is going on and how to fix it thanks allen
 
Do you have the TV on the right input? Swapped out the HDMI cable? Tried another HDMI port? Do you have another TV you can try connecting the Hopper to?
 
I had the same problem and almost called Costco for an exchange on the Vizio warranty. I tired the "Windows" fix... unplugged the TV and rebooted it. That fixed the black screen; try it, can't hurt.

Did this combination of H3 and Vizio TV ever work? If so, here are a couple more possibilities. My H3 cannot switch my Hisense 4K TV to 4K and instead the TV just says "No signal". I can fix this by unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in again. Yes, this is very annoying. My daughter also has a habit of leaving the TV on YouTube paused, which eventually goes into a black screen saver. Very confusing when you're trying to see something on the H3 and nothing happens.

For that problem usually changing inputs will fix it - but there must be something attached to the other input that is sending a signal (So the device needs to be on or have a screen saver) and you have to let that picture appear. Then go back to the input that was black.
 
The black screen is more likely the result of a source issue such as a problem with cable or satellite TV service.

Thinking the HDMI port from the back of the hopper 3 DVR to the tv is bad connected a new HDMI cable from the hopper 3 DVR and it Still did not work

You haven't said everything you have tried so hard to give you suggestions if you already tried them. The most basic one is seeing if it is a Hopper problem or a TV problem. In this order;
Unplug the TV for awhile, about five minutes then plug back in. Use the power button on the TV not the remote this time. Is there a picture?
Can you see the TV menu or other TV functions from the TV remote? If not it is the TV.
If you can see the TV menu make 100% sure you are on the correct input. Don't just look and and say it is, try them all.
Try the Hopper being connected to a different input
Try another device using the same HDMI cable on the same input you have the Hopper.
If no picture it isn't the Hopper. If there now is a picture use that same HDMI cable that is on the device that is working on put it on the Hopper in the same input the device that is working is plugged into.
If no picture could be a problem with the Hopper. Check the settings for the Hopper, change from what you have to something like 720P see if there is a picture. Then go back to the highest setting or whatever you have it set to now.
 
good morning my friends ran the tv thru a power cycle,changed inputs numeours times bought a new HDMI Cable i am thinking it is the hopper tried connecting the hopper to numerous inputs it would not work.the bluetooth is working on the hopper fine listening to siriusxm this morning.could be the hdmi port on the back of the hopper 3 DVR,ran thru the suggestions tampa8 said above this morning.no picture on the tv after switching inputs either from the hopper or a roku tv is a Vizio TV C series ultra 4k HDTVs older television also could be tv too Vizio no longer makes these tvs know more this tv came out before the all the new High Dynamic Range came out in the D Series of the Vizio tvs and the chomecast smarttv app that you can stream using your phone to the tvs nowadays.

You could try the component inputs. I have a Sony TV that all the HDMI inputs quit working on. The price of the repair was almost as much as a new TV so that TV is now component only. :)

The problem is one of three things... the TV, cable, or Hopper. Here's how you eliminate each:

1) Hook another device (DVD player, gaming console, Roku, whatever) to the TV using the same input and the same cable. Do you have a picture? If yes, the problem is with the Hopper. Power cycle and check settings. If no, go to step 2.
2) Use another HDMI cable between the TV (same input) and Hopper. Do you have a picture? If yes, the problem is with the cable. Continue using the new one. If no, go to step 3.
3) Hook the Hopper up to another TV using the original cable. Do you have a picture? If yes, the problem is with the TV. Power cycle the TV and try another input. If no, go to step 4.
4) You have multiple problems.

Did one thru three what you said the power light on the tv left bottom side keeps going off and on did power cycled a bunch of times unplugged the power cable from the tv drained the power from the tv no such luck thinking it is the tv that is the problem?looks like it is a power up problem and there is no picture

I have a P series and the model number is P75-C1. Yours should be something like that except it will start with an M. Do you have a Vizio remote that came with the display? If you do, does it have an Input button on the top left? And this is an important question, is this a new TV in your household?

Input top left power to the right three buttons Amazon, Netflix iHeartradio keypad on the bottom of the remote. Vizio TV is M50-C1: do you guys think it is the main board is the problem?

OK, with the Vizio remote, press power on. You should see the power light, lower left of the display, light and go out. You should also see a lit V in the middle of the screen. Did you see that?
