+primestar31 that was actually in '94, what I'm actually referring to was the Galaxy 4 communications failure in May 1998 (This is for historical purposes). If C-Band was for home use. wasn't regular Ku-Band for public buildings (school, mall etc...) and private houses? I'd still want to know If they carried any WB affiliates beyond KTLA/Los Angeles & WPIX/New York? (S3R, TP15L, 15U). as The WB Television Network/Warner Bros. feeds switch to G6, TP7 (that was only reserved for C-Band viewers).
I don't remember any public buildings or schools or hospitals and such that had KU dishes and access to it. They ALL however had large C-band dishes on their roofs, if they did sat stuff at all. I don't believe analog KU band was used for anything beyond some of the news outlets doing news gathering for point to point stuff back to their stations, and maybe a few one-off events here and there.
Why would they use KU band, when EVERYBODY back then only had C-band dishes, not KU dishes and receivers? Very few people at home had a dual feedhorn that also had ku ability on it.

OK, well Ku Band was for news outlets? (Although this may be off-topic most UPN affiliates had The WB as secondary affiliation). the only WB affiliates that had news divisions at the time (June 1998) were KTLA/Los Angeles, KWGN/Denver (as part of the Denver package that was reserved for C-Band viewers), WGN/Chicago (on Galaxy 5, that also what was reserved for C-Band viewers), WPIX/New York City, WPHL/Philadelphia, WLVI/Boston KKYK-LP/Little Rock & WKCF/Orlando which was independently produced by then), others like WBZL/Miami-Ft. Lauderdale (newscast produced by NBC 6), WRAZ/Raleigh (which switched to Fox after WB swapped affiliations with WLFL 2 months later), WTTV/Indianapolis & KQCA/Sacramento will have newscasts produced by their local stations (ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS), others like KRRT/San Antonio would launch news divisions in a couple months later.
You may well be trolling if you come to the FTA forums talking about commercial television technology of the previous century and assuring the natives that they're wrong based on data that isn't particularly factual.
Reasoning that Ku equipment must have been cheaper is folly since the overwhelming majority of the market was clearly dominated by C-band gear at that time.

Look, Mr "Historian", if that is your real name. This is my absolute LAST post in a thread of yours asking this stuff.
We've tried to help in all your threads, even though you refuse to explain yourself. We give you what we know, which unfortunately isn't what you appear to need/want, and then you contradict us, and tell us we are wrong in your very next post. That's one form of trolling, because you already KNOW the answer you are asking us. There's no other nice way to put it. We who are here right now simply do not know, and cannot answer more than we already have.
PERHAPS if your thread sits here long enough, maybe even years, you MIGHT get lucky and somebody will eventually register here, find your post, and be able to answer your question. I HAVE seen that happen!
Here's my advice, which I think is good, I'm being sincere, and it's the only way you are likely going to get this info in any sort of timely manner. A "Historian" would already KNOW this:
Look up on Google the contact names, phone numbers and/or email addresses for KTLA, WPIX, whoever owned Galaxy IV satellite (PanAmSat - Wikipedia) and phone, email, or whatever their engineer or even just their customer service department.
Ask them nicely all this info, explain who you are and why you need it, and I'm sure if they can track it down through their records they will hopefully send it to you.
Well I think I've read enough. This thread is going nowhere fast.
