I was on eBay earlier looking at both of those. I found one listed as a 950 but what was pictured was a 955. It was priced like a 950 but I asked the seller to specify which one it was for sure. He said he made a mistake listing it and it was indeed a 955Q and he would correct the listing. This all took place in a few minutes and I popped back to the listing to buy it and found not only did he correct the model number he raised the price $20 and added shipping making it about the same price as the others I looked at. :( So I passed on that.

Using openvix. Menu/setup/tuner config/Miscellaneous
Turn off "no" all 3 ignore DVB-S,DVB-C and DVB-T namespace subnetwork. Then green button to save and exit out back to tv.
Open channel selection list and press green button "Satellites" Delete or remove the Terrestrial Services with menu button.
Rescan the ATSC channels again with Manual scan, scan type complete.
After scan go to Terrestrial-Services they will still show no rhyme or reason. Now reboot the mio4k and go back to Terrestial services and if they are in order go back and Turn on"yes" all 3 ignore dvb-s,c and t.
They should stay in order after that.
You can do same with other images but the ignore dvb is in different location than Openvix.

.

Wow, why not just use dreamboxEdit or maybe even Webif screen bouquet edit will reorder them after they've been saved to Favorites?

That works also. My favorites are a mix of Sat and terrestrial.I use Sat channels as fillers to keep the terrestrial lined up with their corresponding number except the sub channels. Terrestrial ch.3-1 on 3. 3-2 on 4 and so on.

From what I can tell, it looks like the X-Box version doesn't do the video capture like the other. Which is cool because I didn't plan on using that option.

Why it doesn't have video capture because it's not sold with the cable for it but it does have the port for the cable so if you have a cable it will do it.. That's not really needed because the mio4k or a PC can capture the video with recording. Xbox One tuner also doesn't come with the little remote for PC use. Anouther reason the price is less.

Anybody know which image (if any) best displays PSIP data for OTA channels? OpenVIX pulls guide data for a few channels, but not all. It's hit or miss. If there's a source for pulling in guide data, I'd appreciate any advice on where to find that :)

Well, you have 4 slots to load 4 different images, so you have 4 chances to play and see if one seems better than the others.

Well of course I had to briefly visit each frequency to get the 15 channel local bouquet. ;)

Yes, this is the key- when the receiver boots up, flip through all the channels in the guide, and it will populate the guide data. There is probably a way to force the box to do this automatically but I haven't discovered it yet.

I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to do; there are already a bunch of XML sources built-in, but they're only for Europe. We just need to point to a source and add it to the list:

Ordered a 950Q while waiting for my new receiver. I've been reading everything I can find and even downloaded a few E2 images to try out. Looking forward to the OTA tuner feature, one thing my Amiko cannot do.

Trust me, start with the North American SatDreamGr image first.

IMO, it's by far the easiest one to learn and get used to E2, and I much prefer it over any of the other 4 images I've tried so far. That may change in the future, but I doubt it.

We need some people with the ability to code to get their hands on one of these also, as they aren't at present capable of decoding CC for North America. It can do it in Europe, but as usual, the USA does it all differently, so E2 has never been coded for our version of CC/Sub Titles.

I doubt it would be all that hard to do, as even the Geosat MicroHD could do it 7 years ago. It just needs somebody with the interest and ability to do it for us.
