CONTEST!! Enter to Win: Titanium C2-PLL C-band Interference Filtering LNBF

Quick update... I installed the C2-PLL in replacement of my C1W-PLL and got similar reception, maybe a little better, and of course with now the ability to connect both receivers at the same time. I still need to fine tune it. I reused the C1W-PLL side-mounted to the scalar of the C2-PLL, with the dielectric plate, and use it successfully on 34.5W, 40.5W and 47.5W. (Not much luck with 53W but that one is tough here even with a properly centered LNBF)

Thanks Brian! Another great product!

I think a septum feed for C-Band circular would be better than a dielectric plate insert. Might be enough to bring in 53W.

I know they make septum feeds for KU band, but have not seen one for C band.

what does that look like? Is it a tube with some flat areas on the inside, facing each other? I see something like that in the circular Ku feed of the DN Superdish

I'm a bit surprised actually that 53W is so tough here. According to SatBeams the coverage should be about 35 dBW, not strong by any mean but also not beyond the capabilities of a 10-footer. If I put the dielectric in the main LNBF, I can get the Chilean radio mux, but I guess it's been offline for a few days. In any case there's not much to receive on that bird.

A septum is a stair-stepped piece of metal. There are probes on both sides - one for RHCP and one for LHCP. Posts 9 and 10 in the following thread show a septum I made for L-Band: Experimenting with L-Band antennas

From my experience, septums work better inside a square waveguide vs. cylindrical. The easiest way to make one for C-Band would be to remove the cylindrical tube from an existing C LNBF and put the probe inside a homemade septum feed.

ah ok, thanks for the explanation! I have seen that inside DN LNBFs
