Lately my Hopper 2 has been stalling with the cycling blue squares across the middle of the screen when trying to play recordings. Normally the squares would only pop up for a moment, if at all, while loading the list of recordings. But now sometimes they'll come up and the receiver never (at least, for a few minutes) gets past it. The first time it happened it seemed to only be on recordings that had multiple episodes, but it happened today when trying to play single episodes as well. The first time it happened, hitting the reset button cleared it up. Today, it didn't clear up right away after the reset, but cleared up a few minutes later. What's going on with this?

I'm not sure, but it's been happening on my hopper with sling also lately. I just hope the back button to exit the DVR and go back to live tv. The two times I've had to do that has worked. We'll see.

Well yeah, I can go back to live TV, that isn't what I meant. I can't get it to play any recordings without a reboot.

It used to work, but works less and less the more often I have this problem.
