Hi,

Maybe I'm being too impatient, but I still don't see MLB Extra Innings as an option to buy, does anyone know if Dish and MLB somehow had a falling out, which wouldn't be surprising at this point, and it's not going to be offered this season?

Thanks,

JD

The Dish website says to check back in March which is almost gone(Duh on my part). I'd call customer service and ask about it. They usually give the first week the season starts free so I would look for that.

I finally got through to a customer service rep, apparently MLB Extra Innings will only be available to purchase on March 29th, a day after opening day, lovely. I also had to ask if HBO was coming back, the rep said "Dish in negotiations to do so"... Just in case it's not clear, I believe that like I believe the moon is made of ribs.

Let's hope that Dish has extra innings in free preview for the first week like some other providers do. If that is the case, then it is fine you can't buy until Mar. 29, but if it isn't in free preview, that stinks as people miss opening day of their teams.

What I hate is not being able to activate the MLB.tv portion of the subscription. My channels are showing up, but I cannot activate the MLB.tv portion, so that I can watch spring training games. It's stupid that Dish waits this long to allow you to activate.

I didn't get Extra Innings this past year, but previous years it was available beginning to mid March. Very strange they are waiting so long for people to purchase the package.

It's showing up for me to order now when I login. Glad they got it up before the start of the season.

Try calling them and see if you get the package for this Thursday. I myself will be listening on XM radio to the Reds game with Marty Brennaman and Cowboy Jeff Brantley. I'm old school.

Anybody who doesn't have good internet service or maybe they just want to watch it without a hassle on their TV's. :)

I guess if you live in the sticks.

The one thing I do not like about streaming is that its always about 40 or 60 seconds behind....but for MLB.TV certainly not worth paying that much extra.

'The sticks' here is less than 20 miles from the capital of one of the largest states in the country and the best we can get is 6/.6 DSL. I think it's amazing how people who happen to have good internet options have no concept of the huge numbers of people across the country who don't.

Any Idea when we can activate the MLB.tv portion? I keep trying, but get the following message: Authorization service was not able to complete authorization at this time. Please contact your pay TV provider.

Why wouild anyone pay DISH $177 when you can get it streaming for $118 (or less with all the offers they push out during the season)?

Because the $177 gets you both Extra Innings via your Hopper3 or whatever STB you have and MLB.TV for your extra money. That way at home you don't need to use the Internet and while travelling you can still watch the games. It works the same way for Center Ice and NHL.TV, a little more expensive than just NHL.TV but you get both subscription.

Someone said that they were told that you will be able to activate the MLB.TV portion on Friday, the day after opening day.

I'm 45 miles from downtown Kansas City and the best I can get is 21.5 MB/s down and 1.5 up. And my phone company says I should consider myself fortunate- there are people in town who can only get 4 MB/s! Rural America is a broadband wasteland.
