Nobody outside of DIRECTV and maybe ESPN has promised mass quantities of 4K content. While Next Gen TV addresses it, the proponents have been pushing other features much harder now that they've been put into a corner by the repack.
4K hasn't arrived yet and 8K is just stupid unless you're maybe within arms length of a 65" or greater screen. Just because NHK devised a way of broadcasting HD in analog doesn't insure that it simply had to catch on as a widely-adopted technology.8k will be coming in hurry LOL
NHK's 8K content is/was "broadcast" via satellite!
