Are LPTV stations required to vacate or move their frequencies on the same date as the major stations? For instance, in my local market, KCMN broadcasts on 38 with a scheduled move to 28. Our repack date is April 12th. Does KCMN have to move on that date as well?

KCMN moves on whatever their date is and that may depend on someone else vacating RF28 (or not). I guess that because KCMN is LP, it doesn't appear on the rabbitears.info Repack Plan page.

The repack date for this market is 4/12. I wasn't aware that LP's could have differing repack dates.

LPTV stations are not assigned to phases. They must move either when a full power repack bumps them, or a wireless operator wants to deploy on their channel. (Stations on channel 45 have to vacate by July 2020.) They can move any time sooner than that if their new channel is clear.

Well, pray me for also. Your post made be double-check our dates, and it's also the one coming up starting in a few days. Could have sworn it was MUCH further off.

I think this'll cause some heck on dvr guide data (especially Tivo). I hope they switch in tandem, but I wouldn't bet on that happening. We MUST watch closely on actual switch versus recordings set to go off.

So it's possible that KCMN could remain on 38 indefinitely?

KCMN-LD would have to move eventually, and since it presumably wants to get reimbursed for it, the station will almost certainly do so before the reimbursement fund ends, whenever that is. (I stay as far away from money issues as I can in this process, for obvious reasons.)
