A few weeks ago Kroger stores were selling gift cards 20% off. Just redeemed my two months worth a few minutes ago. Easy as pie.
If you already have Amazon Prime they have a small discount for Cinemax and HBO bundle. These bundles are hidden and hard to find. Besides Cinemax, there are no savings by bundling which has changed from just a few months ago. Odd they offer bundles but no discounts.
FYI you do get the same 5.1 audio as long as it's not the live feeds Prime video offers. The on-demand works exactly like HBO NOW and MAX GO.

I used my 4K stick and Amazon HBO channel to watch last season's finale to get ready for the new season. I can confirm that the OnDemand is magnificent. 4K and Dolby Digital Plus. The "live" stream is only 1080 and Dolby Surround.
My 4K stick says it is HD. The TV says it is 2160 though. I have Match Frame Rate enabled.
I went back and checked and it IS 1080p, but it is the BEST 1080p I have ever seen. (and the audio is DD+)
Ditto. The 4K Stick has an "HDR Always ON" option which I have enabled and as well as the frame rate. As you see in my post above, I went back to check and it was 1080p (upconverted to 2160, of course). I will say though, it looks better than some genuine 4K presentations I have seen.
A 4K TV upscales everything to it's native resolution of 4K no matter what the input is..............
6 episodes so 6 weeks. Or just wait 6 weeks and watch on a 1-week trial. I don't know any fans with that kind of will power after 595 days.
Back in the "old" days of the Internet, I was able, for one whole year, to avoid the spoilers (or should I say the very BIG spoiler?) of The Sixth Sense until the DVD was released. I rented it was totally surprised by the ending. I do not believe that is possible today unless you join a monastery for 6 weeks.
And I believe that is too much to ask.

Yes, that is true. What my Vizio is showing is the resolution it is receiving however. So, what I am saying in this thread’s context is that the 4K Firestick is sending an upscaled 4K signal to the display to start with.
I would disable that. By enabling HDR you are going to get strange colors on lots of programming. Just have it send HDR when it is an actual HDR program.
The real question is: "When offered a true HDR signal, does it disable it's fake one to pass through the true signal or does it override it?"
If the answer is "Yes", I will keep it on as I like the effect on Menus etc. If the answer is "No" I will turn it off.
