After being a customer since 2001, I just got off the phone with Directv and will be free of them after May 9. It has been a long run and not without some ups and downs, but I guess I can live without Sunday Ticket. I'll find out in September.

Going OTT? Or OTA?

I would imagine that, that would be an option soon, depending on who ends up with it.

Wait till the NFL realizes that Directv has been over paying all these years and nobody will pay those prices.

Single team plans is a great idea, but at what cost?

Is it 1/16th of the cost of the regular package?

Full cost is around $400. I can’t see AT&T letting people get away paying $25 per season to see their favorite team play.

Once you get rid of the exclusivity which is the only reason why AT&T pays up the nose to prevent hundreds of thousands of customers going elsewhere and open it up to streaming, you loose all the value in the product.

A streaming customer is already cheap enough, no way I see them paying $400 or entering into a installment plan over 5 months.

MLB plays 162 games per season, and you get every game every night.

NFL plays 16 games per season, and you get only the Sunday games and pay 4 times the price.

Only way streaming works is if the NFL takes over the entire thing themselves and does what the MLB does. But then again, I don’t think the revenue is there.

If they offered a single team package I'd bet it on being about 50% of the cost of the full package. Because let's be real, people who are fans of a team they can't watch on broadcast TV because they live in a different area aren't going to complain too much about paying $10 a week to see their games.

Lets be even more real..the NFL package isn't attracting customers like it used to...most of those customers got a big discount on the package..very few were willing to pay full price

I'd be interested but only if they pared it down so you could subscribe to a single team.

50% could be optimistic. For comparison...if they follow the MLB.TV model, it'll be worse than that.

MLB full package price = $119/yr
MLB single-team price = $92/yr.

Generous savings there, huh?

Not 100% true

The Single Team package is $89.99 a year, but MLB.TV typically offers a special of $39.99 a year. This package allows you to select one team only and watch out-of-market regular season games live or on demand.

My mistake...I only looked at the MLB.TV website and assumed their own listing of their own prices was correct.

Next time I'll check third-party websites from last season first. :p

MLB and NFL are not comparable.

Football, in the United States, is like a religion.

Baseball, in the United States, endures but its interest has been in decline.

I won’t say what I would predict. But, I would say that if people want NFL Sunday Ticket badly enough—and a lot do—they will pay for it.

I'm gonna say they are gonna offer Single teams (when it happens) and I bet they ask about $125 ... this way making the whole package look more reasonable.

Wait till they see the loss in revenue when people are allowed to pick and choose.
I agree ...
I would think that of those that have ST, 60% would go to a single team if offered the option.

I wonder (thinking that a single team will be about $100 give or take) if they would give you like 2 teams for $125-150 ?
