Hi all newbie here, wondering if anyone can clue me in on this problem. I have a 7’ dish for C band
Titanium Lnbf set on and at 5150 and on 103W I only pull in 5 channels all on H polarity.
I have a 30” dish For Ku band with a avenger Lnbf set on and at 9750/10600 on 101W I pull
In one video channel H polarity when I blind scan the transponders I have a signal strength of
81 and a quality of 60 to 73. My receiver is a Manhattan Rc1978 and doesn’t pull in any V polarity
TPs. Thanks

How do you power the LNBFs? With a STB, legacy IRD, or a dish positioner? What is the LNB Power setting in the install menu? Measuring the DC voltage at the dish, what is the reading when a vertical transponder is selected? What is the voltage reading on a horizontal transponder?

Any switches or splitters in line?

There both stationary dishes in the Manhattan reciever it has lnb power on or off and gives you a drop down menu for the lnb settings as far as the readings go I haven’t taken any measurements. Thanks for the response

My list of transponder doesn’t show 3972V14800, I have a 3650V11705 at 80 sig
Strength and 68 quality scanned the TP and nothing loaded also being a newbie
What is SQ

The Manhattan has a list of the transponders for each Satellite and a lot of them I see on the satellite channel charts aren’t listed.

103w doesnt have transponders below 3700, so that tp is not correct. All TPs on 103w are between 3700 - 4200MHz. Ypu may need to manually add a TP if it isnt in the list or won't blind scan. How about on 4140 V 3000?

Sorry, SQ is the Signal Quality meter reading.

Do a Blind Scan of ALL not just FREE TV and Radio services. Are more FTA channels logged?

Hi Ron, welcome to the forum, you came to the right place :)

Are you sure you are on 103W C-band and 101W Ku-Band respectively? Can you give a list of those channels you scanned in, including the frequency and symbol rate?

The reason i'm asking is that one of the most common problems is that people think they are aiming at one satellite and are actually aiming at another, and of course are not receiving what they expect to receive...

I have a 3650V11705
As Titanium mentionned, that's outside of the C-Band range that we would find in that region. However it might be a valid transponder on some of the Atlantic satellites, but those are far from 103W... Another possibility is that you got C and Ku mixed up and are actually looking at Ku. But i'm not finding anything that matches that Symbol Rate. Can you double check that you gave us the right numbers?

He's reading it backwards, AND that's 101W. Also, that's RADIO only. Not sure about his receiver, but likely he has to switch to the "radio" side on the remote to hear it.

Make sure that when connected to the C-band LNBF that you select 103w C-band from the satellite list.

If you have any splitters or switches in line, remove and direct connect the coax from the receiver to only the C-band LNBF for this test.

If I have to add a transponder how do I find the frequency,I know the polar will be H or V but what about the symbol rate

If I have to add a transponder how do I find the frequency,I know the polar will be H or V but what about the symbol rate

I don't have that exact receiver, BUT, arrow down to the bottom line that says: "Start Search" 'Blind', and then try arrow forward or backwards and see if there's a choice to change to "Transponder". If so, it'll also likely let you insert the exact settings you want.

You can look up specific transponders here: Satellite Charts - Search

But that site is NOT the be all or end all site (none are) so sometimes they can list something that's old, BUT, usually they are pretty much correct.

In other words, "Blind Scan" is typically always the first thing to try, followed by a transponder scan if it doesn't pick one up that you KNOW is likely there.

P.S. NICE setup you have there!
