Hello all.New member here. Installed c-band stuff in the early 80's up to the 4dtv stuff and got out.and have and old c band I was using for Nasa tv. can I still use an old fta receiver for nasa tv or do I need something newer. this is just going to be used for nasa tv in my radio/electronic shop so don't need a lot of features.

Thanks for any info

:welcome to SatelliteGuys NasaNut54 . :) Well if you really are nuts about NASA, you will want a new receiver. They have a 4K broadcast now as well as the other channels. What is popular here right now is the Edision OS MIO 4K. A Linux based receiver running versions of Enigma2 STB software. Highly configurable STB and a lot of fun.

Loving my os mio I got from Brian at Titanium.
First Enigma2 receiver was a Zgemma H7.AC. It just kinda' sits there since getting the Edision.

The Edision OS Mio is great, and was my "holy grail" receiver I'd been looking for, for years. I don't at present have a 4k tv set, YET, this receiver can receive 4k sat transmissions (including NASA), and downconvert them to 1080p so I can watch them. It still looks extremely GOOD!

I can highly recommend that receiver. It's not something a newbie should start with, but you appear to have enough experience to learn how to use it fairly quickly. You can buy one at titaniumsatellite.com
