possibly, prices are already going up, and more streams are usually higher price, the add in hulu that is running ads during pause. things are changing

I'm on a three month Dish pause while I try out youtube tv. Youtube tv is certainly more clunky when it comes to channel changing and such but it's still pretty good. If I decide to go back I guess I'll either try to negotiate or switch to Direct. What do you do with your equipment if you cancel?

Wait., what!!???

https://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/at-t-gets-serious-about-sunsetting-satellites

In case you haven’t heard, AT&T is done launching DirecTV satellites.

The telecom, which purchased satellite-TV company DirecTV for $48.5 billion in 2015, has been not-so-quietly developing an Android TV-powered set-top box that would receive video channels over the open internet.

Now AT&T executives are openly discussing the Osprey, a piece of hardware that will eventually replace satellite receivers and dishes in customers' homes — and save the company gobs of money in the process.

“The biggest cost we have is the truck roll and getting that installation out,” AT&T chief financial officer John Stephens said at the Deutsche Bank Media, Internet & Telecom Conference.

“We’ve been beta-testing within our employee base a thing called Osprey, which is a self-installed, full linear product,” he said. “You don’t have to do a ‘roll the truck, pull out a ladder, climb the roof and put out a satellite dish.’ You can hook this box into your fiber line, your broadband line — whether it’s ours or somebody else’s — so effectively the only truck roll is the UPS truck.”

We heard about Osprey a very long time AGO.
Every ATT exec seems to have his own ideas about what's going to happen. One thing you can probably be certain of, ATT will make a mess of it.

Prices did go up but so did Dish ( and Direct, Comcast and the rest ).

As far as streams go, not all services charges extra, Vue you get 5 at no extra charge, You Tube TV gets 3, Hulu and Dnow charge extra, have no idea what Sling charges, I have no interest.

For me, the channel changing on YTTV wasn't all that bad, and the PQ was certainly good. It was just navigating to the content I wanted to watch/record/delete/whatever took so many clicks of the remote, and I felt like they could put a lot more information on the screen than they do. The DVR functionality on YTTV was oversimplified and resulted in too much scrolling through to find the thing I wanted to watch. Finally, the trick play was just ok. If I didn't have to FF commercials, like on Netflix or Prime, I wouldn't care, but with live TV, being able to skip commercials is a key function that I want to work as well as possible. It clearly works for a lot of people, and I say good for them, but it isn't for me at this point.

With Sling, it is 1, 3, or 4 streams, depending on which package or combination of packages you have.

Curious, why no interest when you tried all those others?
