Unless you're a slave to Apple or the highest-end Android stuff, there will be headphone jacks on wireless phones for a good long time. Battery life takes a big hit with Bluetooth and similar and that's something that will be a concern for the foreseeable future in terms of manufacturing cost.

I think one of the reasons Apple has had an uphill battle since the beginning in most of its markets: people hate that they need to have an adapter to connect to pedestrian tools to Apple hardware and software.
Bluetooth will still be there, whether theres a headphone jack or not.
Lot of other devices work with the BT.

I don't notice much difference in battery life between turning off Bluetooth and just leaving it on.
That's the "actively used" part of my statement. If you're not using it to drive your headgear (or one of a number of other uses), it can go into one of many lower power modes.

I do end up using Bluetooth a far bit of my day. But yeah, if it isn't being actively used, the new Low Power modes help a lot.
