I know, wish they had done more movies.

I was thinking about Val, if I'm not mistaken and if my memory serves me right.....

I was shocked the first time she came on screen.

I seem to remember she was fighting with Dan but she was all covered in black, and I thought it wa a guy, then
I had the impression that the guy all covered in black kissed Daniel -- yikes, until she uncovered her face....7
then I realized this "guy" was actually a gal....

I loved Ark of Truth and Continuum.

As for Stargate Origins, I didn't enjoy it as much, as it has a different "flavor" without the original cast.

Howeever, I think it was a good idea, and in any event, at least it was more Stargate...

It was a terrific series and I still miss it. Have all 10 seasons on DVD and occasionally binge-watch my favorite episodes from my media server... :)
I have 9 seasons on mine from DVD plus one from SHO2HD that I got with my smoked Hauppauge 1212... and Stargate plus the 2 SG-1 Movies.

I think this was a great TV series,

I still remember that I was amazed when I saw the movie (the first Stargate) I even went to see it again a couple of days later.

So when I learned that they would make a TV series I was in for it.

Still remembered watching the premiere - Children of the Gods - on Showtime -

And I loved it, even though honestly I was not expecting the full frontal nudity and all that with Daniel Jackson's girlfriend. :eeek

That was the only nudity in the entire series, including the 5 seasons on Showtime... I think Showtime was trying to hook viewers, but they didn't need it...the series was terrific without it and I could share the series with my 8-year-old niece (minus the Children of the Gods episode)...

I agree, I was taken by surprise with that, since even the original movie was family friendly, i.e. no nudity, etc.

I also agree the series in itself was good IMO and there was no need for nudity, thankfully that was the only nudity in the TV series.

The whole series was packed with lots of adventure, excitement,

I still watch my episodes from time to time and remember some quotes:

"In the name of the gods, ships shall be built.....to carry our warriors out amongst the stars and we will spread Origen to all the unbelievers.......

As I said, I'm making my way through all the seasons on Amazon Prime. I just finished the episode with Homer, er, Dan Castellaneta who plays the Indiana barber who touches one of the Ancient communication stones and is able to relive all the SG-1 episodes with his family, friends, and customers. There's even an awesome tie-in with the "Wormhole: EXTREME!" episode when it comes on TV after all his submitted stories have been rejected. He tries to sue, but the series was cancelled after the first and only episode.

It was one of those "obviously cheap" episodes that features re-runs of old episodes cut with new content. The "Stargate" franchises seem to have done this to the extreme.

Joe Spencer: Dr Jackson, can I just say thank goodness you're back. Not that Jonas was a bad guy but after all you've been through together you belong here with SG-1.
Daniel: Thank you. Jack?
Jack O'Neill: He's a barber.
Daniel: Broke into your house?
Jack O'Neill: Yeah.
Daniel: Second week in a row.
Jack O'Neill: Mmmh-hmm.
Daniel: Alarm.
Jack O'Neill: I'm thinkin', "dog".
Joe Spencer: You could try locking your front door.

Received a notice that it's Stargate Atlantis 15th Anniversary

I think Sam Carter was the only Stargate SG-1 character who became a full time character in Stargate Atlantis, and that was in Atlantis Season 4.

Don't recall now if when she came to Atlantis she had the same rank as when she left SG-1-

Anyway, IMO she was a great character.

Daniel, Jack and Teal'c also made appearances in Atlantis episodes as well, which made the link between the two shows (and character continuity) more enjoyable.

Watched "Solitudes" from SG-1 season 1 last night. Jack has a bunch of laugh-out-loud lines in that one early on. Makes me wonder how much of his dialogue was off-the-cuff when he was being sarcastic about something...

Don't forget, IOA Director Woolsey (Robert Picardo) took over from Dr. Weir after she was "Replicated".

Elizabeth Weir was the highest authority in Atlantis from season 1-3,

Then I remember that Sam Carter made the trip all the waaaay to Atlantis, in season 4, to take charge, however she and other SG-1 characters had previous appearances on Atlantis, but what I mean is that Sam Carter became the only SG-1 who was a regular in Atlantis,

So Sam Carter was in all 10 SG-1 seasons, full season 4 in Atlantis, plus previous appearances in Atlantis, and she also had what 1 or 2 cameos on Stargate Universe, and in addition to that she was in both Stargate Movies, (I mean the ones made in those days, I'm not talking about the first one or Stargate Origins).

Then Woolsey was in charge of Atlantis in the last season, when Carter left.

Of those 3, Weir, Sam Carter and Woolsey, my favorites are:

1- Sam Carter
2. Elizabeth Weir,

and Woolsey was never my favorite, not a bit.
