New image from a group that I have not heard about before - PURE2

Took a look at the image and it looks real nice from the screenshots and have heard that it runs smoothly on the Mio.

PurE2 Download

I downloaded and installed on my box and discovered that you will have to add the NA satellite list as they only included the list for the other side of the world.

Personally, I prefer TNAP over other images. As an avid blind scanner, I like the ability to see the scan log results as nn - TV / nn - Radio and the ability to save the log file onto the attached drive. I don't run many plugins. As the plugins that I use are all default, don't have any compatibility issues.

One might choose OpenVIX if you run many plugins. The frequent build updates may provide latest improvements and compatibility. Some might prefer the GUI or default menu organization of one image over another. Some images are icon driven while others are text based.

No right or wrong, just what you like. It really comes down to personal preference.

Kodi should work fine for 4:2:2 playback.

Streaming is the easiest way to watch live or DVR 4:2:2 programming. Here are a few examples of simple ways to watch Mio 4k on other devices.

Watch on an Android smart phone, tablet or set top box:

1. Install DreamDroid on an Android device.

2. Press Menu>>> Setup>>> System>>> Expert Settings>>> Network>>> LAN (or WLAN) connection>>> Adapter settings. Copy the IP address assigned to the Mio 4k by your router. (example: 192.168.1.5). Press Exit several times to exit back to viewing mode and place on the channel that you wish to view.

3. Launch DreamDroid. Create a profile with a Name and enter the IP address then Save.

4. From the Services List pull down, select "Current Event" and then the current event service information will be displayed.

5. Press "Stream Current" to view the current program on the Android device. If Screen Mirroring or Cast is active on the device, your smart TV will also display the programming.

Watch on a computer monitor (or HTPC TV) on your network:

1. Install VLC or other media player software of your choice on your computer

2. Press Menu>>> Setup>>> System>>> Expert Settings>>> Network>>> LAN (or WLAN) connection>>> Adapter settings. Copy the IP address assigned to the Mio 4k by your router. (example: 192.168.1.5). Press Exit several times to exit back to viewing mode.

2. Open a browser on a computer on your network.

3. Type the Mio 4k's assigned IP Address in the URL. (example: 192.168.1.5)

4. Select Satellite - Services then select the channel that you wish to view.

5. Press the TV icon to play the stream. The first time your stream, you will need to select VLC (or other media player program).
