Anyone else notice the Pizza Hut ads when paused?

Paused the screen for a bit, and noticed that instead of going to the usual screensaver, there was a Pizza Hut logo with pizzahut.com on the screen. The bottom had press any key to go back to your paused program. Interesting that ATT seems to now be selling advertising space when your program is paused aside from the normal program announcements.

Thats been going on for quite awhile now ....
May have been something that I've seen thru the CE software, that just now has been pushed thru ...
 
i don't have Genie DVR hooked up to the internet as in it's not connected via WiFi nor connected via hardwired connection to the router from a ethernet cable.

i have noticed that the current screensavers and ads being inserted in the screensaver are because it's connected to the internet. and since i did used to have my Genie DVR connected, i know the screensavers with the different scenic locations and ads for DirecTV PPVs/channel ads were in fact internet fed. with the DVR now offline, I'm back to the bouncing AT&T DirecTV logo.
 
Pizza Hut and Dominos are both awful. I live in the mecca of great pizza, southern CT!

This has been going on for a long time, like Jimbo said. I didn't think the screen saver stuff was tied to CE but the ads must have been. There are ads for Nike, Lowe's, and several others, plus ads for Directv Cinema movies. I can't remember the last time I saw the scenic pictures. And the ads come up quick, too. With the bouncy logo or the scenic pictures, if I just took my dog out or something quick, sometimes the screensaver wouldn't have kicked on when I came back inside. Now, the ads are on the screen before we even get outside.

Your right, I noticed that too ...
I actually paused it to see what was on the screen (reading something on the screen I guess) and before I could finish reading it (not all that much) the screen saver ads popped in.

I just timed it ... it stays paused for :30 and then the screen saver ads come on.

Yikes, that is fast. I pause it to read stuff a lot, too. It has interrupted me a couple times. The ads themselves are not that annoying, no different than a screen saver. But coming up so fast is kinda annoying.

I would much rather have a screen saver ....
If I pause to do something and I look back and see ads playing, I have to wonder if the show is actually paused or not.

This sounds like a good place for a different thread ...

Everyone has thier own favorites as far as pizza goes ...

Some of the bests are the Little Ma and Pop places instead of the major Pizza joints.

You can also debate what style if you want ...

I prefer Thin crust usually and cut in Squares ....

Glad to have an old HR24 that probably does not support this function.

Dominos/PapaJohns is best IMO. Can get a great pizza for $7.99 carry out. I get hand tossed, 1/2 pep, 1/2 sas, and double cheese.

I like the local J&Gs, however if I don't go there, I am currently liking Papa Johns as well.
 
What are these "ads" you speak of?

The little button marked " >> " is your friend.
 
ads while paused will be the new thing
i think hulu is starting it too

so look for it to become more widespread, especially for steaming companies, gotta make money somehow
