New software update Hopper 3

Send status seems to work but not check status. I was hoping check status might find other issues like the disappearance of my EHD.

Hey there, TomT127! When you select Check Status, does an error message ever come up or does it just stay at 60% and you have to manually exit the screen?

I don't even know if Check Status is a 100% legit function. Half the time when I run it, it dhows internet not connected ,even though it is connected just fine.

Who is YOUR internet provider?? I have no issues with VOD, ever. And I only see the connection check hang with incompatible routers/gateways
Oh, no, it is not my ISP, it is the slow eperience of plodding trough screen after screen after tile, after the next screen and then I find my show. I refer to the experiece of drilling down--at a speed that needs to be faster--several screeens BEFORE I even select the button to "download" and that's at the faster H3. It is even a longer process with the Joey 2. Further, if I use the SEARCH to try and avoid the long VOD menu process, the search will show NO MATCHES--in many cases--for the show, YET, it DOES exist if I go through the long process of accessing the VOD menu itself, drilling down the long slow to respons way, and the not found on SEARCH, when, in fact, it is in VOD

FWIW, I have consistant 100Mbps downstream. The downloads often are at speeds close to the 100Mbps--very fast downloads fo HD material. However, It's as if the whole VOD portion of the DVR needs to be re-written for faster access of each subsequent screen. While it is faster with late model equipment compared to ViP's, but not fast enough, like the code is not taking advantage of the processor inside.

Frandkly, I've wondered that, too. I mean sometimes my HDD seems to have problems, yet everything on Check Status say all is "100%" to use your term :). Perhaps Check Status is desingned to show "all is OK" unless things are so bad that failure is imminent, like the warning lights on cars (instead of the gauges). By the time the warning light on the car annunciates, it is TOO LATE; a failure is about to occur at any moment, mere seconds away from disaster. :).

No problems there.

Ok. This issue does sound like one that our Tech Ops are investigating at the moment. For more information on what could be happening with the Hopper when it tries to download, they are requesting that we look into the net health report that the Hopper should be sending to our system. To review that report, we will need to access your account and equipment information. Please reach out to our Chat teams by clicking this link: Direct Chat. We have agents ready to assist and access that information. -Jasmine D.
