Thinking of getting Directv - Few Questions Regarding Equipment

Thank you all for the detailed info and lively discussion.

I forgot to ask... do all clients support RF Remotes?

I placed an order with AT&T, they were running a promotion with $300 in debit card incentives :). I explicitly asked for an HS17, as I cannot accommodate full size receivers at the locations where the TVs are, the built in depression in the wall is only 10". I shall look at the dimensions at Solid Signal. The installer is supposed to show up tomorrow at noon. Shall post back here and let you all know how it goes.

You do know that the HS17 looks nothing like a typical recvr, right.
It's more like a tall odd looking device, kinda triangle shape.

Anything you activate with Directv is leased. So why pay solid signal anything for a receiver when you can get it for free going through Directv
ATT normal routes seem to not want to give me a HR54 (to unfortunately replace my HR44 ... I'd rather keep the HR44) so that I can get 4k to my 4k set, they keep insisting that I need a HS17/Genie2 instead, even though I will not give up my HR24's as I need them for RV and tailgating.

So I eventually just skip the idea and keep what I have ...
