Dish off in storm, permanently?

Not sure, but if I see it first, I'll definitely post it
When I read this in your reply above "I watch HBO. I stream it through Amazon Prime - which is coming to the Hopper. " I thought you knew something about Amazon Prime coming to the Hopper. I got confused and hopeful.

Amazon Prime went up earlier this week in the uplink report. It is in Test condition right now. Somebody out there is testing it to make sure it works before any of us will see it.

Thanks I hope it works out. It would make it much easier for my wife and I and make it easier to see HBO. We use an audio enhancer that connects to the Dish optical output. When we watch Amazon Prime, we have to move the audio cable to the smart TV. If we keep the audio cable connected to the TV to watch Dish we get an audio delay.

I no longer have any interest in more apps on the HWS. My new Sony TV plays YouTube much better, so I expect that will carry over to all apps.

It's pretty damn certain Dish will have 5G if the merger goes thru more or less as now structured.

Claude, I don't want you to think I don't respect you, because I do. I know you've been in this game a long time and your roots in this industry go deep. However, I don't have any respect for constantly coming into a hornet's nest with a stick and poking the hive, but I do acknowledge your persistence and willingness to (annoyingly) hang in there.

With that said, outside of channel disputes and the NFL Ticket, DTV has nothing that tops Dish. Not one thing, The Dish's fail in weather faster. The hardware isn't even close. The Software isn't close. The options pale in comparison. DTV's VOD is a joke. The billing is extortionist and the customer service is horrible.

When I hear the phrase 'Best in Class Service", I take it seriously. I make every job the best job I can do. I never worry about the next job until I finish the one I'm on, ever. My company's Mission Statement reads, "Mission Statement: GalaxyOne Marketing was founded to provide exceptional customer service in satellite and home entertainment through professional commitment to each and every customer." and I adhere to that every day.

Intentionally setting someone up with a substandard POS service is predatory at best and not something I would ever abide by - and you can ask about the number of Hughesnet jobs I've downed because the customer wanted to stream and game with it and the Sales people - who ask those questions - put the sale ahead of the customer's needs.

That's how I roll!

You have been brain washed by Dish. Same way I was brain washed 8 years ago when I was one of the Top 10 national sales partners for Dish.

You think that Dish can do no wrong and that you’re installing the best equipment and system for the customer. But when Dish eventually screws over the company you work for and you don’t get paid for several jobs, you’ll see that I was right all along.

I used to watch the Charlie chats religiously, Charlie was my god and I worshipped on Sunday’s at the church of Dish. Dish would come out with a new way to screw us, and instead of being mad, I would figure out how to justify and work for less money with tougher requirements.

Dish was my life, and sadly enough I spent 12 of the best years of my life being up Charlie’s A$$ I did good, played by the rules and started to make lots, I mean lots of money.

Eventually Dish no longer wanted to continue paying me, and found a way to get rid of me.

Everything I did for Dish got me nothing at the end.

Quit trying to think your doing customers a favor installing Dish for them.. Your not! As soon as their contract is over and the price goes up, they are gone.

Granted I believe in doing good work, but wait till someone comes out to do an upgrade, or a service call and now your perfect install looks like crap. Or if it didn’t get touched, you just made it easier for the Directv guy to hack it up switching the customer over in a few years.

People don’t care if the Hopper can skip commercials, record 16 things at once or that Dish likes to take away their channels in the name of fighting for the customer to keep prices low.

They just want to watch Tv

All customers care about is that can they get reliable internet service, and how much they will be paying every month.

I’m not here to argue wether Dish, Comcast, Spectrum or Directv has the best service. If 1 service was truly better then the rest, all the other providers would be out of business.

As far as your Hughesnet comment, I agree I wouldn’t install it either if it’s not right for the customer. I definitely wouldn’t install it to replace a cable internet connection.

But if you pull up to a customers home and that’s all they can get, then install it and collect your check for the install.

Speaking of the company you work for. Your in Ohio, Right?

What happened to Digital Dish? Same thing that will happen to the company you work for.

They should have had a wireless network 7 years ago.

That ship has sailed!

All they are trying to do is pretend to be doing something so they can sell off everything before they are forced into a fire sale.

5G requires too many towers, to do what it’s intended to do. Dish does not have the resources to invest in a 5g network on their own.

All the Boost mobile deal did was buy them some mote time.

Dish is not going to be a 4th wireless carrier. Verizon and Death Star will see that, that does not happen

Actually, we're based out of Iowa with offices in Illinois, Ohio, Iowa and Missouri.

What happened to Digital Dish?? The old man that started it retired after a lot of good years, handed it to his kids who ran it in the ground. That's what happened to Digital Dish. The guy that started my company?? The first Sub Dish had? Ate Thanksgiving dinner at Charlie Ergen's house. And you?? Probably had Chinese at a crappy Diner off the Ambassador Bridge.

The customers that are gone in droves are the one's dropping DTV, who's prices actually DO go up, several times a year. I've been paying Dish the same bill for 5 years and I get no deals, no breaks.

If someone comes out to a job I did and does anything, he was the last service provider and now it's his job. And no one is switching to DTV in 2 years. Unless they have high speed internet. And they just may - 5G internet provided by Dish!

I’m pretty sure Dish has always planned on technological developments, which became 5G. And the delays in rolling that out certainly justifies the delay in Dish deploying. And for the Nth time, their primary aim is on IoT.

And yes, people complain about limited cable boxes. Even here. Sometimes the price is worth it, sometimes not. But by any independent measure, the Hopper is the best box out there and has been for years.

Sent from my iPhone using SatelliteGuys App. For now.

The Sprint/T-Mobile deal gave Dish over 3400 towers to use.

What else ya got?

Hehehehe.... you just don't give up, do you? Every time you say they won't do something, they do it

Did you even watch the you tube video I posted?

Dish can Bailey put up a 4g tower and they are getting into 5G?

Do you know how many towers or transmitters this is going to require?

Even if they attempted to do it, do you think they are going to start with the under served areas that could really benefit from it.

Yup, same thing I was doing.

All my employees and friends had dealer demo receivers and showroom accounts, and I was paying over $200 per month with (6) 722’s and America’s everything pack for my house.

I was happy to pay it also, and even had a second account I was paying for my girlfriend.

Again, it’s all part of the brain washing. I didn’t dare even dream of asking for a discount myself back in the day.

At least Directv gave me a dealer employee complementary account, that all I pay for is additional receivers, DVR, HD access and the HD extra pack. [/QUOTE
