Just had a Dish Network system installed with a Hopper 3. I get signal strengths on the 110/119/129 satellites from mid 50s to mid 70s.
My question is: why aren’t my local channels in HD? Dish Network says I can receive my locals in HD. Can someone tell me what satellite my local HD channels are on?? Or am I gonna have to be switched to an eastern arc??
Technician coming back this week to trouble shoot but want to be armed with knowledge.
Zip 29560
Thanks,
Doug

Since you Zip Code is for Myrtle Beach, SC, it is probably that you will need an EA LNBF head and a re-aim. The old List showed satellite 61.5 for those Locals.

Thanks for all the info. Hipkat he went back where my directv dish was. I have great access to the eastern arc. He never told me I would not receive HD on the western arc.

I hate to see a guy get hit wit ha trouble call, but the tech you say is coming this week should get you fixed up!

So now I have to work a technician well into the evening during a weekday for someone taking the easy way out when they knew it was wrong.

Sorry about your bad experience. Hopefully you'll get it squared away.

To get it done right the first time you should always call your local retailer first, if you have a good one. :)

Thanks for the info guys.
Here is where I want to mount the dish network dish for the eastern arc. According to the measurements the tree line should not be a problem. I would think the dish would be installed approx 5-6 above ground on a pole.
Does this all look good considering the measurements for height obstructions?? Those pine trees are about 90 feet tall.
Thanks

How in the world does DISH manage to stay in business without your assistance ?
I was just wondering the same thing and imagine the hundreds of local retailers that are supporting the work of the 10,'s of thousands of "trained monkeys" t hat obviously don't know squat about how to do the job......

Claude Greiner You ever consider Counseling? You apparently carry a lot of weight over your Dish history and may be suffering extreme emotional stress, anxiety and possibly depression and PTSD. I mean, I'm just pulling key words out of the air, but you never know

He has DISH caused PTSD ( getting screwed out of a lot of money that DISH owed him). I sympathize with his predicament, but I also would be letting it go by now. It is only making him angrier and causing him pain. DISH has moved on years ago.
