Broadcast Networks Programming Discussion Thread

Emergence. My apologies to anyone enjoying this show. Because now that I'm officially watching a high-concept sci-fi show on a major network, it will of course be canceled, if not by Thanksgiving than certainly before a second season gets made. :p

Hadn't checked on Emergence, but now will do,
Same here, my bad luck, whenever I find a sci-fi show on the broadcast networks, they dont't last enough.....

I see that happening every single time, last one was that show (can't recall the name now)....

About those folks who came out of the ocean,.....

Fox seems to kill them after I get hooked...
CBS all access "live" was showing 4:30 news at 7 pm so Sheldon & Unicorn got shelved for The Walking Dead on Netflix followed by last nights Chicago Fire on Hulu... (need to fix Her antenna for OTA)

Here are the ones that come to mind for me:

Firefly
Threshold
The Event
Flash Forward
Almost Human
My Own Worst Enemy
Tomorrow People
The Passage

I know some of these are pretty old. But I've pretty much lost hope that if the main character isn't wearing a cape from the Marvel/DC universe, any new sci-fi/fantasy show on network TV won't be around very long. So I generally try to avoid the inevitable disappointment of not getting to see how the story is resolved. Timeless, Revolution, Jericho, and Under the Dome are the only shows I can think of that at least got a second season in recent years (other than Lost, of course).

I hear you.

The Event, oh that one was just a cliffhanger last episode, I felt so bad about it being cancelled.

Another one that comes to mind is Alcatraz (on Fox), another one that wasn't even able to give us some closure.

Now I remembered, the name of that show about the folks who came out of the ocean.

It was The Crossing on ABC,

Anyway, for the moment I'm crossing my fingers on it having at least a full season... We shall see...

Well if you go past all the crap on this website and go down to Emergence it doesn't look too good since it had a 2,4 rating for Tuesday night's time slot. Tuesday Final Ratings: TBS Leads All Key Male Demos with Brewers-Nationals National League Wild Card Game Compared to New Amsterdam with a 3.6.
