A highly directional, high gain home made antenna following tried and true designs with a free design tool can work.
I had my doubts from building biquad, setting routers at prime focus of old ku band sat antennas...etc.
When watching the signal strength peak to holeecrap on the client bridge as I zeroed the antenna on a router through a window that many yards away.
Something worked!
