Locals Protest the 5G Towers That Promise a High-Tech Future

There was a time when americans had a bit of common sense, and could handle reasoning better to sort through what is real and what is not. 5G power levels will be quite low. With more transmitters closer together, the power needed will be less than current systems. Also, the higher frequencies will mean multiple antennas can be integrated into a site to allow beam forming where it is needed, further reducing required power and raising efficiency. It is non ionizing RF, quite harmless. Think for yourself people. It is well known there are people trying to hinder our tech progress by spreading online lies about 5G.

But I'm already living a High-Tech Now. What do I need this crap for? A refrigerator connected to the Internet? A lamp? Why do these need to be connected to the Internet? And I need 5G to connect all these devices at my home instead of my existing fiber connection because...?

They're right that 5G is a whole bunch of hype over nothing. I'm already satisified with 4G LTE speeds on my phone when I'm out and about in public. What the hell are you people doing out in public on your phones that needs anything faster than the ~100 Mbps I already get with 4G?

I remember when people left the house to get away from their screens.

I know why China's so excited about 5G. It helps them build a total surveillance state. The more devices they can have connected to the Internet, the more wireless cameras they can deploy, the more ways the Chinese government can spy on their citizens.

This also sums up the inefficiency of having four different wireless carriers each competing with each other with their own chunks of the spectrum instead of having a utility type system for wireless:
Because each pole only houses technology for one mobile carrier, Denver could see hundreds or thousands more as companies expand their 5G networks in the coming years.

Now they have to build out 4x as much redundant crap whereas if the wireless industry was nationalized with the government deploying the infrastructure and wireless companies leasing access to it there would only be a single pole instead of four to do the same thing.

I don't think you have a grasp on the potential of 5G. There will be many things possible using 5G that are currently impossible. Future innovation, growth and international business competition dictates that we go all in or we shall fall behind. Things like real time traffic analysis, controlling traffic signals all over town to relieve congestion and rerouting vehicles. Wireless virtual reality streaming. Remote health care. Video conferencing like you are there. Dismiss it at your peril.

While you are absolutely right about the Chinese, I saw videos of test cities they had set up last year that do exactly as you say, the rest of your post is just pertaining to you. Other people have other needs and if you don’t understand them, that doesn’t mean you have the right to denigrate them, does it?

You really are drinking the 5g koolaid...that stuff will never be possible with 5g ...5g is gonna be a replacement for landlines..maybe

It will take a little time to get there. They said the same thing about flying machines, there were people who could never foresee the need for more than 64k of PC memory either. I work in telecom we are all in, you will be too I guarantee.

6g or 7g

I know what it is and what they want it to be...bottom line is it really won't work well until they reuse 3g and 4g frequencies to get better penetration..but alas if you want to get hung up in th hooplah be my guest
You really don't know the potential of 5G, do you? Or the planned uses for it....

or be like me and ignore Juan entirely. I don't have him on ignore I just ignore everything he says because I don't see any credibility to anything he says... Just an opinion, it's mine and endorse it! :)
Wasn’t Juan on the side that there would be no way a Hopper would have more than 5 tuners? Several people ended up surprised on that one.

I'm curious... is it a lie that a 5g transmitter has a relatively small (like 100'?) range? That's why they put them up on telephone poles? Assuming that's the case, 1) How does that help rural customers and 2) what happens during a power outage? At least now at a cellular site that covers miles, you put a generator. When you have to have a generator at every telephone pole? How exactly does that work?

You do realize that all those things, all of them except VR, already exist, some of them for decades. Traffic analysis and control has been around almost 40 years.

Remote Health Care Is the Future of Medicine

The video conferencing one doesn't even deserve a response it's been around so long. So really, all you've got is the promise of VR streaming, like that's important. Too many people are buying into the PR hype without realizing this stuff already exists and runs fine on 4G. Speed isn't the panacea, penetration is and that is thee big bugaboo with 5G, it does not penetrate well so instead of addressing all the dead spots around the country they want to waste millions on a technology that no one really needs. I live in east central PA, not Montana or North Dakota but PA, and within less than an hours drive in multiple directions there are 3 dead zones. 5G isn't going to fix that and, in fact, indications are it will make it worse.

Juan knows 5g signals are very high frequency that has trouble passing through obstacles just like **drum roll*** UHF TV STATIONS
That's what Kodak said about Digital Cameras, but I digress, you realize Juan knows everything and we should be so honored just to be acknowledged in his most-insightful posts
