    Terrible call to DiSH

It can allow them to capture PPV revenue in cases where cx is unable or unwilling to broadband connect, but has landline. Does hopper, joey use UHF remote?

    But there's no Ch. 3.

    The Copenhagen Test - Peacock

Is this going to be at all plausible?

    Terrible call to DiSH

I'm not at all suggesting viewing in anything short of full 1080p at any screen, and I think I have made that clear. I'm saying that there could have been a design decision that HD doesn't have to dictate that there can't be a central unit that serves more than 1 screen and that there still can...

The Original Theatrical Cut of ‘Star Wars’ Is Coming Back to Theaters

No one yelled for HAL to open the pod bay doors when I saw that movie a few years ago in 70mm.

The Original Theatrical Cut of ‘Star Wars’ Is Coming Back to Theaters

I certainly thought it would happen. Theaters are so starved for compelling product these days that a significant proportion of their offerings now consist of "retro" re-issues of decades-old successful films, often with an anniversary "justification" such as with the currently ongoing...

I was going to say somewhere in the late 80s

Do people still watch satellite TV these days

They would probably have to send a whole new rx

I know this will ruffle some feathers but,,,,

I would probably put some kind of a google blocker on as well if I could, but with good information now drowning in AI on internet search, youtube seems to be something of a refuge for some valid info.

    Terrible call to DiSH

A whole-house unit could have 4 HDMI connections for 4 screens. Or use HD over coax and 4 different freq. bands. Or output ch.3 in D

Dish Protect was added without informing me.

Are they charging to send replacement? Do they not still pick up the shipping for units they want returned?

    Terrible call to DiSH

Welp, DiSH seems to be striving to put itself out of the sat business, so I guess it'll be well-set for IPTV

    Anyone else with issues yesterday?

Huh? They were a streamlined design in half-height cabinets, which would go on to host the 322. Never had issue with them, thought they had a good, balanced look and they fit in more places (however the grand champ of small form factor was the Sony for DTV). The 3000/4000/5000 (also heard of but...

    Terrible call to DiSH

Possibly, or HD over coax, cat5, etc. But the progression could have been to have TV2 (and possibly TVs 3 & 4) be in HD along with adding more tuners; both users already had "all the same options" with a Duo unit as far as usability.

    Terrible call to DiSH

So the Joey itself has no tuners but enables use of one of the Hopper Duo's 2 tuners by a 2nd user in HD? I would thusly allege that calling that Hopper, by itself, a Duo could be misleading. A combo of Hopper Duo plus Joey could be unitarily considered a Duo system. To me, as I've previously...

    Terrible call to DiSH

My understanding is that systems designated by DiSH as Duo are usable by 2 users independently from each other. There's the Duo ViP222, the DuoDVR ViP722, etc. They actually started in with Duos way back with the 322/522. Through this time they also referenced single-user only units as Solo...

    Terrible call to DiSH

So where does the Hopper Duo slot into this timewise, and does it do same as ViP Duo, to be able to have 2nd independent user with UHF control?

Dish Scapes on 199 is interesting

I don't much follow these but do note that this recent one looked like a xmas scene with turkey day elements added. Also 2 fireplaces- "modern" and traditional.

Is Free Football Actually Going Away? Inside the Broadcasters' Astroturf Campaign

So at some point the broadcast nets will deal with these money-grubbing affiliate groups by ditching them altogether for direct streaming. "Free football" via broadcast affils isn't free by a long shot over cable or satellite. Just by antenna, which comparatively few now use.

    Ads Update

"The painter of light," right? This guy was right up there though perhaps no longer greatly appreciating. So yeah, there should be a decent market, and waiting isn't adding to valuation. Especially given your fiscal situations, it would seem to behoove to monetize at least some of this art in...

    EchoStar / Dish’s Path Forward

There was some original thinking that was put into the hopper, so to speak. They'd gotten so far into DVR that they could only think more recording is better, and hey, let's make it automatic so folks don't have to fuss with setting timing. Oh and let's apply it specifically to the broadcast...
