Switching from cable to Roku & Chromecast

I am planning on in September to get rid of my cable TV service, but keeping my internet and phone through Suddenlink. I have a Chromecast and a Roku Stick. For streaming TV bundles, what is my best bet for the money: Play On or Sling TV? And how can I get channels from Canada and UK?

    DirecTV or Suddenlink Cable

I've been on Dish for 4 years and I am planning on switching to Suddenlink Cable or DirecTV. I like Suddenlink because they offer all my local channels, even those that I can't get on Satellite. I like DirecTV because of the channels available, even though I don't get all my local channels. What...

Anybody know if there is a wireless way to watch one TV in one room while another one is hooked up in another room...

Public Housing and cable/satellite TV wiring

Just today, I had an inspection done of my apartment and was informed that if you had 1 or more receivers, (cable or satellite), the cables can no longer go under rugs, they must be put on the ceiling of the apartment. (HUD Rules)Personally, I think it's tacky and there's a chance the cables...

    Big Bad Dawgs

Got back to my place this evening from visiting relatives for Thanksgiving, turned on the TV to the local cable access channel to see if I missed anything in the few days I was gone. This is the weirdest warning I've ever heard of... Turns out in my town, there is a gang or pack of wild...

Do I need to contact DN for an upgrade?

With the Eastern Arc going into effect in my DMA, one of my receivers is an HD, other one is SD. I have already gotten the cards installed on my boxes, but I am concerned about 2 things. 1. Do I have to call DN to get the HD locals activated? 2. Can I now order HD channels only for my HDTV...

    Bordering DMA's

OK, honest opinion time... I did my research on this one... My zip code from my DMA (Charleston-Huntington WV), borders 3 zip codes from another DMA (Lexington, KY). Does anybody think I'll be able to get the Lexington, KY channels along with the Charleston-Huntington WV channels? I...

    Taters N' Gravy

For those of us who are too lazy to peel potatoes, there's the old instant potatos on standby in the store. The thing is, there are seasoned instant potatoes also. Just trying to decide what flavor to get and what gravy to use with them can be just as confusing as what wine goes with what...

    One dish or 2 dishes?

I am moving next year and will be allowed to use a "mini-dish" at the new rental location, using 1 dish or 2 stacked dishes. I currently have DN, but in the new year, I plan on getting a S* Choice system. I know that the S* Choice dishes are oval shaped, but I'm wondering on how many LNB's...

I have a VIP 211 receiver and get channels in my area market, plus I have local channels through my cable company as a backup in case the signal gets "rained out". I was watching a program on one of the local channels and saw that the picture quality "overflowed" the TV screen and I wasn't...

I was looking through my late mother's cookbooks, when I found a list of finger sandwiches and spreads that a friend of hers had listed. Some of you might think the recipies are "prissy" or unusual, but I also have some of my own comments about this. WARNING : EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK...
