So.... with all these local channel moves to 129...

and off of 121/105... does that mean Dish will have the capacity, once it stops mirroring the local channels, for even more locals? Maybe a push to carry all DMA's? Or should I just go back to sleep since I'm dreaming.

An interesting question. No Compete agreements and such.

I have two non-compete agreements signed with my former employer, an RSP. One as a contracted installer, and the other as an employee. When I was an employee I performed virtually every task from dispatch up to payroll, including pitching whatever sales walked in the door. Now here's my...

    FAQ Legacy/Dishpro/DPPlus Conversation Thread

Hello everyone. The mods have gotten together and we decided to put together a few FAQ threads, but we want your input. The main thread is above, which is stuck, and will remain the pure version of the FAQ. There will be a few more topics as we go along. I thought this would be a good one to...

FAQ: Everything you wanted to know about Legacy VS Dishpro VS DishProPlus

The first thing you need to know when trying to understand the difference between the three technologies is the biology of a length of cable. The outer jacket is basically there to look pretty and keep water out. The outer conductor, or braid, is designed to keep radio frequencies from...

    Thoughts and ponderings....

I've been sitting back and soaking up all of the info that has happened in the past week or so and I'd like to weigh in on the a few things... Rainbow 1: Those spot beams are going to be virtually useless at 61.5. Everyone is hoping for more HD, and Local in Local HD, which, frankly, is the...

    I miss my 721!

:( I am sorely missing out now that I can't get my Dish to work here. (I just recently moved) I had to go back to Comcast and get their DVR. Top reasons why Dish's 721 is better than Comcast's Explorer 8000 DVR: Both have Dual Tuners and PIP Comcast lacks the 30 second forward...

I received a letter back from my senator

He also sent me another email about the HDTV email I sent, but it was mostly gibberish about stopping TV stations from owning too many media outlets, and referencing ClearChannel's dominance in the radio industry as an example. Anyone else have any replies?

    Cheap short term HD solution?

I'm almost ignorant to HD, so you'll have to bear with me. We have two or three OTA stations that are broadcasting in HD and digital around here, and I was wondering if there was a cheap antenna I could purchase that could pull those signals in and be viewable on my digital (not hd) TV.

    DPP44 and legacy rcvrs

Heard from a tech that a DishPro Plus 44 switch can be used with legacy rcvrs without Dishpro adapters on ports 1 and 2 only. Don't know if it's old news or not, but I learned something new.
