    Hughsnet dish

It's been a while since I set up my system, so I'm uncertain if what I am doing is feasible. I'm trying to help a friend set up...he has 30" elliptical Hughesnet dish with a directway lnb. I have no specs on the lnb, but I'm wondering if this dish and lnb can be used for Ku band? any help or...

    motor puzzler

I have a Viewsat Ultra. While rescanning a couple satellites, the ability for the receiver to automatically move the motor from one satellite to another has been lost. I can, however, move the motor one "click" at a time...so the motor is not fried. I also replaced the Ultra with a Coolsat 4000...

    Viewsat Ultra glitch

Hi While scanning for new channels, I've run into a problem with my VSUltra...here's what happens: when I attempt to "add a new tp" in the channels search mode, I cannot get the "little window" that you can enter the new data in to open. there is a red button on the remote to press to open this...

    72 w

my true south is 72 w. lately, I've noticed very heavy pixelization at times. at first I thought it was weather, as we've a a lot of snow this winter. I've been able to get the snow to drop off of the dish by swinging it east and west. but last night the sky was perfectly clear. I tried bumping...

    sg6000 quits working

My motor stopped working last night. We had quite a downpour for most of the night but I can't imagine this caused the problem. This motor has only been in service for a couple of months... I tried moving it with the manual button. The green light is on, but blinks red twice every few seconds...

need help finding far western sats

I'm kind of new at this. I've been able to find the ku satellites from about 60w. to 101w. After that I can't seem to find anything. I have a 36"x39" dish with a sg6000 motor and an Invacom QPH-031 lnb. What puzzles me is I have a 20" dish about a foot lower that gets 119 and 110...Dishnetwork...

    Echostar 6@72.5w.

I've read at another site that TVland is in the clear on ES6. I've tried scanning for this satellite and when I zero in on a strong quality my receiver (Viewsat Ultra) reports that I'm either on Echostar 4.8 @77w. or (oddly enough) that I'm on AMC 6/C @ 72w. What puzzles me is that when I scan...

    where am I?!?

While trying to find Intelsat 9 @ 58w. I ran into ten channels while blind scanning. I'm not sure I'm actually on Intelsat9, I can't seem to locate anything about these channels. They are all listed as 301 to 310 @ 11966v. 11280. Three of the channels are PBS, the other seven have a still screen...

    RTN west on AMC 6

I've only been set up and fully operational for about a week now. When I first scanned AMC 6, I was able to watch RTN east and west. The quality was minimal and the picture was a bit pixelated. Since my initial blind scan I've lost RTN east, and RTN west has a much stronger quality (about 75)...

    jumping signal quality

I finally was able to tune my dish to get some signal quality. My "nearest to true south" satellite is AMC6/72w. There are two frequencies listed for this bird; 12143 (v2573), ande 11891 (h1666). The 12143 frq. is listed as the "strong transponder", but I get no quality at all from it. The 11891...

    lnb frequencies

Well, I finally got my system up. I took my time over three days. I got my mast dead plumb, set the elevation for the motor, set the declination once the dish/motor were mounted. Pointed to what I determined to be true south. This is my first FTA setup, I've set up tons of DTV and Dishnet...

    C band on 39" dish??

I just read, on another site, where some one mounted a C band lnbf to a 39" hotdish. now, I realise, if this actually works, reception would certainly be limited, but is this a legitimate way to get a few more channels? I know I would need a cband lnbf, but (sorry for the dumb question) do I...

    two receivers: one motor; possible?

I'm getting ready to install a new setup. (39"x36" Hotdish, Invacom QPH031 lnb, SG6000 motor, 2-Viewsat Ultras) I have one stb upstairs and one downstairs. They are currently "wired" to a 20" dish with quad lnb, connected with two 4:1 DiSeQC switches. When I add the Hotdish, I will put one...

    LNB or not LNB

I posted earlier about a Primestar dish I installed. I never got any quality from any sats I set up for. Before I raised the dish 4 feet with an extension to the mast, I lifted the dish off and set it on the ridge of my roof...installed the extension, and as I was putting the dish back the coax...

    galaxy channel lists

I'm looking for a list of actual channels and what kind of programming is usually on them... for the lower Galaxy sats (77-123) for example, if a satellite gets abc or nbc or some not well known channel that has, say, retro tv shows or sports or whatever. if there is a list on this site, would...

    problem hitting 123

I set my primestar eliptical dish on my roof today...I'm certain I got it plumb from three sides. My zip is 03456, I got my coordinates from the website posted in my last thread. I set my lnb rotation to +39.6 degrees (just before +40), set my dish elevation to just before 20 (19.6), and tried a...

    dish elevation question

trying to set up a Primestar eliptical dish. no motor yet, so I'm just trying to point the dish to Galaxy 123... using Satellite Alignment Tool, I've entered my lat. and long. the Azimuth is 158 degrees, the elevation is -50 degrees. on the page with the "offset antenna tab", I entered the width...
