    Hopper, What a surprise!

    1st day for Hopper. Expected long wait for CSR and delay for installation. After the "normal(?) push 1 for english" and this or that number for something else, it took about 60 seconds for a real person and the Hopper and 3 Joeys will be installed tomorrow! Unbelievable. :)

    Assuming there will be an NFL season (?), will Shaw finally do it in HD? A few years ago, after I signed up, I found out it was SD and never watched it.

    3D tv?

    Wife doesn't want to wear 3D glasses. I have seen 3D sets, that without glasses, look like normal HD and others that have a double image, like a movie theater. Can anyone explain the difference? :confused:

    A few weeks ago I looked at a 3D tv display. They were showing an animated film. 3D looked great and with out the glasses it looked like normal HD. Yesterday at Best Buy, there was another 3D display, with live action, that without glasses had a double image, like in a movie theater...

    UFL Ignored

    My local paper does not even report scores. Does anyone else's? I know they are drawing rotten crowds; but the TV games are decent football. I didn't think they would do well in NYC and SFO; but even in Vegas and Orlando the attendance stinks.:confused: They need some promotion of some kind...

    Dead *Choice 530 DVR

    It appears it has died. Tried rebooting (holding power button for over a minute), and unplugged it it for awhile. No response. Shows correct time; but nothing else. Anyone have any other suggestions, before I have to pack it up and send it back? :mad:

    Does anyone know if NFL Sunday Ticket will be HD this year, on Star Choice? How can I find out? Their web site doesn't say. Don't want to make the same mistake I made last year.

    211 HDMI connection

    Am I forgetting something? I have had my 211 connected with component cables, to my Vizio TV. Works fine. Ended up with an extra HDMI cable. Hook it up and selected the HDMI input on the TV. NO PICTURE OR SOUND! When Component input is selected it still works fine. Is there something else...

    *C picture?

    I have *C connected with a component cable ( the only connection) and Dish connected with HDMI. The *C picture is much better. It rivals the OTA reception I get with local channels. Why? Do they use less compression? I don't think my eyes are playing tricks on me. :confused: Any experts...

    *Choice Died?

    I have a *C HD DVR. This morning I set some up some recordings. Then went back to Dish. When I went back to *C, I have no picture. I rebooted the receiver (with no results). Receiver shows time and Red timer light; but no picture. Anyone have another idea? :confused:

    What do you think? Now that the regular season is over, will a team move to LA? Will the proposed new stadium be built? Which team might it be? Oakland (ugg)? San Diego (still playing)? Someone else?

    I am curious what you guys, that have technical know how think. It appears to me, that the Star Choice picture connected by component, is slightly better than Dish connected by HDMI? :confused:

    Painting Dish?

    I had a Star Choice system recently installed. Now my HOA insists that it be painted to match the house color. My question is: is there any part of the dish that should not be painted? Can the whole thing, including the LBN's be painted? :confused:

    I have followed the instructions from my Canadian dealer and my 530DVR will not activate the second tuner and will not download the program guide. They said to record on Ch.300, for at least two minutes and to the leave in on Ch.299,for at least a day. Reception is fine; but does anyone know...
