When you had the 211s did you had home receivers as well? If you never had problems with the VIPs as well, may be the receivers with out of the service area message i have seen had some kind of glitch or they have not been active for a long time?

I have seen this message only on VIP receivers, and NO, check switch does not fix it and non of the channels had worked not only the locals.

There is no EA and WA reflector - for EA and WA the reflector is the same. Move the dish right until you loose the signal and see if new one will show up , you may getting the 61.5 with the 72 horn. Run check switch. And again, get yourself some kind of meter, even the cheaply $20 one.

If you already have 61.5 try to improve that signal, 72 will come by itself (if the skew is correct and if there is clear LOS) . The switch in the LNB very rarely goes bad.

Thank You for the current info. The reason i am asking the same question multiple times is because i am Dish tech and i have seen on multiple occasions customers moving from Florida or west coast to New England having that problem with the message "Out of the service area" and some times even...

I have only seen this with people moved from hundreds if not thousands of miles and was wandering how far can you go with your RV before your receiver quit working :eeek:)

The reason i am asking that question is that i have seen dish customers moved from far away and the receiver shows message "Out of the viewing area" and doesn't show any channel , not only the locals.

Thanks. If you have only the RV receivers on the account you just change the zip. My question was in the situations where there is a receivers at home and only one of them is in the RV traveling across the country.

That's a good question? My guess is that you will get a little better signal if you use the two dishes with single LNBs, i'm not sure what will happen if you plug 2x dishes pointing to the same sats? About the x16 - 222s it will be cheaper and all TVs will be HD if you switch to 211s or Wally's.

Apparently if a RV receiver goes to far from the home ZIP it shows message that is to far from the viewing area. The question is how far from the home zip un RV receiver can go?

Only one of the hoppers need to be connected by only one way - WiFi or LAN.

What kind of "switch" did you had? 44 switch with 2x Solo Node or DuoNode? And what do you have now? And... yeee What is your "2nd box"? Hopper 2000?

:) We may agree on this. Never tried second receiver on port 2 with Hopper 3, and never observed if the hopper 3 have signal at the time I adjusting the dish. But I always attach my meter on port 2 on hybrid LNB and always works ;) We did agreed that the official way is DPP LNB and 42...

;) That what i know is that always when i connect the meter to port 2 on hybrid LNB it worked just fine :cool:

I don't recall doing this lately.... but how come that you can re-point the dish with hybrid lnb and hopper 3 powered on, if port 2 is disabled?

We got that but if you want to make sure that the wally works, just swap the Hopper and the Wally at the Hopper location.

Ye, just swap the Hopper and the Wally before start pulling new cables.

The dish on the picture is 1000.2, 118 sat usually goes with 500+ dish. You can try the dish you have but the signal will be low. Just remove the plastic bracket and drill holes for the 500+ LNB.
