After almost 16 years with DISH service I am sad to say I have to leave because we are moving. Our new home will be a high rise bldg in the city and there is no way for us to see the satellites. Really going to miss my Hoppers and all the tuners. The best my cable company offers is a 2 tuner...
I am having a problem where channels that I have put in my custom guide lists are being dropped form the list. Seems to happen each morning after the overnight updates. The channels dropped are random. I keep re-adding them to the list, and the next day others drop off.
Sometimes it wont...
Today I plugged back in one of my Joey boxes that had been disconnected for about a month. Within minutes it had the latest version of software This got me to wondering if the firmware updates for the joeys are really brought in and held in the hopper and not download directly onto the Joey...
One of my hoppers dialed out today to DISH and tied up my phone line for almost 13 minutes. I have never seen a call take that long, usually less than 30 seconds. I wonder what it was doing all that time?
I sent this message into the DIRT team, but reposting here too in case anyone else has seen this issue.
All of a sudden I am having a problem where channels that I have put in my custom guide lists are being dropped form the list. Seems to happen each morning after the overnight updates...
Am noticing that at :29 minutes and : 59 minutes each hour I get a momentary glitch in the picture of any channel I am watching. Slight freeze up and sound stutter. Happens to all channels on all hoppers and joeys.
Any clues to the cause ?
Ever since the upgrade to 209 I have had a strange issue with PTAT. When I push the red button to see the list of the channels that PTAT is recording, I get NBC, ABC and FOX, but not CBS in the list. The fourth line is blank and says 0 minutes remaining. I tried a reboot but that did not...
Under the MoCA method, there's an option that says "Frequency Scan". What's this for? The options are "Restricted" or "Full". The default is "Restricted".
When the tech put my system in he only used one client tap on the dual node, and put a three way splitter on for my 3 Joeys. Would it make more sense to use a 2 way splitter and put the 3rd Joey on the other client tap on the Node? Do MoCA splitters have signal loss like regular cable TV...
Tech showed up at 8:30 to install 2 Hoppers and 3 Joeys. First step was installing the Dual Node. He replaced all of the connectors on the coax cables. Even though they were put their by Dish, he said they were told to redo all of them.
Next step was to hook up the Hoppers. This was easy...
922's pulled?
Called up Dish today get upgrade my 722 to a 922. They told me that I was eligible for a free upgrade. But then after a few minutes on hold the CSR came back on and said that they are pulling all 922's from shipping for a few weeks and he could not upgrade me at this time...
Yesterday Dish came out and took down my 1000+ with 500 wing and replaced it with a 1000.4 and put me on EA.
I was looking at my levels last night, and i am not sure if I have a problem or not. My signals on 72.7 are great, in the 60's, and the spot beam for my locals on 61.5 is close to...
I dont normally watch The David Letterman show, but have been the past few nights. I notice that the show has no center audio channel. Is that normal for them? Makes for some odd placement of the sound field.
I hooked up my 129 LNB today on my 1000+ dish. I never used it before as I was using 61.5 on a wing dish. I have always used 110/119 on the 1000+. My signal level on 129 is 45-50 range. on 110/119 its 80-85. Is that normal for 129 in my part of the country? I am in Charlotte, NC.
It varies...
I have the ability and the dishes to see 129 and 61.5. I have a 1000+ and a 500. My locals are on both birds. If I go with 129 I can take down the extra dish I have for 61.5, but clutter is not a real concern. My main concern is best signal overall in various weather conditions for my...
Called dish today to complain once again about losing channels from 129 whenever the weather gets iffy. Spoke to a Specialist who confirmed with technical support that since I am on the east coast I should be on 61.5. Which only confirmed what I had been trying to tell dish for 6 weeks now...
I can see from the charts that my HD locals are moving to 61.5 from 118.7. In fact they are already up there on transponder 11s7.
Seems that many locals are being moved.
Called E* to find out about how they are going to deal with the extra dish I will need, and the CSR insists that...
I am new to E*, I have a 1000+ dish (110,118.7,119,129). Am I missing something by not looking at 61.5? Are some of the channels I am getting in MPEG2 actually in MPEG4 on 61.5? Or will it not matter as they will all be MPEG4 soon?
Thx
Long story short, I got new Dish service two weeks ago. Tech came with the wrong equipment, installed two 301's instead of a 322. New tech came out yesterday and put in a 322. Dish says I can keep the 301's they dont want them back.
So are two 301's that are less than two weeks old worth...
I just had dish installed. The installer used a 1000+. My signal levels on 129 are very low. Should I make dish come back out and add a second dish to look at 61.5 instead? Would I lose anything that 129 supplies?
I have the AT250 pkg with HD. I get the Charlotte, NC locals.
