Dish Anywhere Login to Wrong Account?

Or maybe not:rolleyes I just logged into DA using my credentials and ended up in a DA account in a DMA that is close -- but not mine

Dish Anywhere Login to Wrong Account?

Rats! For the last 2 days when I login to Dish Anywhere using my credentials, DA connects me to my own account! :eeek Where’s the fun in that? :glasses Seriously, it seems that Dish may have quietly fixed the Dish Anywhere random account login glitch ;)

Dish Anywhere Login to Wrong Account?

Thanks ! I think :) BTW there seems to be a time factor in geting the random account. Once I've gotten to my own account, DA keeps logging into the right account for awhile. But if there is a time delay (e.g. I log off in the evening, then log back in the next morning) i almost always get logged...

Dish Anywhere Login to Wrong Account?

The info that is avaialable looks like it is probably info that is stored on the Dish Anywhere server(s) -- not the receiver. So far the Receiver has been shown as "offline". So there is probably not much chance that DVR recordings are at risk :) But other info is sometimes available. Like other...

Dish Anywhere Login to Wrong Account?

This morning’s random DA user… - lives in the Scranton, PA area - uses the whale for the master admin profile - has one receiver in the Living Room - running U727 and - is probably a sports fan, given the number of sports channels in the guide. Is anyone happy to have Dish Anywhere continue to...

Dish Anywhere Login to Wrong Account?

Loging into Dish Anywhere has become like playing Russian Roulette. — occasionally I actually get my own account. But more often I get logged into some random Dish Anywhere user’s account with very different channels in its Guide. For example, the guide sometimes includes locals from a different...

Dish Anywhere Login to Wrong Account?

Yesterday I forgot to log out of Dish Anywhere. This AM when I went to the DA website I was already logged in as yet another user :( The top picks were way off e.g. they included quite a few children’s animated programs. I could see their timers, daily schedule, purchases, etc. But things like...

Dish Anywhere Login to Wrong Account?

Twice in the last two days I have logged into Dish anywhere and ended up in someone else’s account. The first time I though that Dish Anywhere had forgotten my Guide Favorites. But when I checked the DVR, the recordings were not correct. And the Account and Devices were wrong. After logging out...

Amazon Prime: Hopper3 vs Apple TV (HD) vs ??

How does the Amazon Prime Video app on the Hooper 3 compare to the app on your favorite streaming box, TV, dongle… ??? Hooper 3 vs Apple TV (HD) at 1080p Hopper 3 — Pros: * Uses same remote for Amazon Prime streaming and satellite * Begins playing faster * Allows skipping “Previously on…” &...

    Hopper 3 U543 released

Never-mind. I wasn’t expecting the process to include several attempts to startup at different scrren resolutions and then go to the standard “off” screen long before the new software was downloaded and installed. The 2nd time I tried downloading the new software I just walked away and it...

    Hopper 3 U543 released

I used the software upgrade instructions on the Dish site ...https://my.dish.com/support/products/hopper/how-to/settings/software... but my Hooper 3 won’t download the new software. It says It already has the latest software — U542 :( Is there another/better way to force the update? Thanks...

Free 54.1 Remote With Google Assistant

After some more experimentation I realized that the problem was that I was using the “power button” to “turn on / switch” to the Hopper. That how it works with a V52 remote. But the V54.1 has changed the function of the power button. If the TV is already on, because were were streaming on the...

Free 54.1 Remote With Google Assistant

Thanks guys. I have a V52 remote that does everything I really need. I was only interested in the V54.1 for the back lighting. But that’s not worth the hassle of a work around that requires extra button presses and/or a 2nd remote. I’ll just pull the batteries out of the 54.1 and put it in a...

Free 54.1 Remote With Google Assistant

Thanks for the tip. But… while pressing any button on the V54.1 does turn the Hopper On without turning the TV Off — it does not switch the input on our Visio from the Apple TV to the Hopper, like the power button on the V52 remote does.

Free 54.1 Remote With Google Assistant

Yesterday’s mail included a “Gift” from Dish — a Voice Remote with Google Assistant. For some reason, I immediately began thinking about Troy :) And sure enough, the “voice” part of this “free” remote requires enabling Google Assistant :( Thankfully, I was able to turn the microphone button into...

    Dish Anywhere login problems

Thanks! So the password requirements to log into Dish Anywhere are tougher than the password requirements to log into the Dish website where you can change the password for Dish Anywhere — duh! FWIW you can change your password to both Dish Anywhere and the Dish website by logging onto the...

    Dish Anywhere login problems

Recently I have not been able to login to Dish Anywhere on any device (e.g. Mac Mini, iMac, iPhone etc.). The error is same regardless of the device “Your Online ID/Password combination has expired. Please click here to create a new password.” After clicking “here” I'm sent to the main Dish...

The OFFICIAL DISH / HBO Thread

The trick to managing your HBO subscription is to lock your wife in a closet and cancel HBO. In a few months, when you let her out to binge watch the full 2nd season of Big Little Lies, she’ll love you for it! … or maybe not :eeek FWIW my wife agreed to cancel HBO now and resubscribe for a...

Is Dish heading towards dropping locals?

As a rural Dish Welcome Pac subscriber... No locals => No Dish. It's really that simple.

Dish quarterly profit misses on pay-TV subscriber losses . . .

I call them the VCR generation. Folks who grew up using a “clicker” for their TV and VCR, are more likely to be happy with linear TV and DVR recording via Cable/Dish/DirecTV, etc.. And they are more likely to judge the value of a service by the number of “channels”. Many of the current “cord...

    HBO Questions

I view Smart TV apps as a last resort (or backup) for streaming regardless of brand/model. The fundamental problem with Smart TVs is the shear number of different brands and models. This makes developing/maintaining a Smart TV app for all of them more difficult. As compared to...

The OFFICIAL DISH / HBO Thread

For reference… We streamed GoT live at 1080p last night via Amazon Prime + HBO Now to our Apple TV. Our bandwidth log shows that we downloaded 1GB during that hour. 4Mbps => 1.8GB/hour. So we had a comfortable cushion of nearly twice the bandwidth we needed, which explains why we had no buffering :)

The OFFICIAL DISH / HBO Thread

We’ve successfully streamed 1080p with only 2mbs bandwidth, with only occasional buffering. But it takes vigilance to eliminate any internal download competition. For example, I use Peak Hour 4 to monitor all of our internet traffic to make sure that none of our computer, phone, tablet, smart TV...

The OFFICIAL DISH / HBO Thread

Buffering can be due to lots of reasons — including what servers & device/app you are using for streaming. The devices/apps and the streaming services aren’t created equal. Even though we have a very slow 4mbs (yes, that’s 4 mega bits per second) line of sight wireless ISP — we stream 3-4 hours...
