I'm in the same boat as you, hooked on Dish. That is not the 55+ offer, it is Preferred Customer offer. I have Caleb Dish CSR checking this out.

We can now get HBO by using HBO Now app.

I get a number of flashes like sparks all over the guide, also the guide freezes every time I use it, a simple close and reopening the guide fixes the problem.

Yoy need to upgrade Netflix.

I don't seem to have a problem with timers, what I have while looking at the guide is that it will flash some white dots over the screen, then it might jump to channel 2, or it might jump to the next day, at this point it will freeze and I have to close and re-open the guide. Dan

I opened DVR to see if 4kHDR10 was being recorded, It looks like that DVR list is 4KHDR10 also, it really pops out. The only thing that would be better is if it was Dolby Vision, that is 12bit. Dan

I think non-hdr tvs will get 4k, also might be a good idea to make sure your Dish Tv setting is set to 4k. Dan

I don't know about the remote, If they want your old remotes dig out a couple of older remotes if you have them. If you have recordings on old box make sure you can transfer them if you want them, this takes some time. Dan

On a Hopper3 press menu twice, go down to Dish click it, this way you get the Sat and the transponder. Dan
