Great replies. The DVR and HD-quality are real issues. Enough to consider not being sold on the low Triple-Play price. Right now I am leaning towards just changing to Comcast Internet, getting away from ATT-DSL (as they are raising their rates in my area for DSL). Still like my Absolute-HD package.

Recently I have seen this issue on DVR playback of 'Hell's Kitchen' (also on FOX). Don't know why or how to fix. I assume it might be the broadcast itself. Since I was watching a recording, I could not check against the initial live broadcast.

You could get a universal TV remote (e.g., Logitech Harmony) that when programmed, automatically turns on all your devices with one button. Therefore, the 722 would be turned on with the TV and no splash screen.

Yes. Wish we could get Encore HD. I recently stayed at a rental house for a few days that had Dish and the Encore channel. Had some good movies. Other than that, I am staying with Absolute. The price is fair for what we get.

Just to note. the video for me is fine. When the audio dropouts occur, the video is not affected. All you do is watch them mouth words you're never going to hear. Checked it on the rewind, and the same audio drops are present. Watched plenty of non-CBS yesterday and no audio dropouts.

I am at version L616 with the 622 DVR. All audio goes through an Onkyo TX-SR805 receiver. The audio signal loss I am referring to lasts about 1-5 seconds. I was told this is a different audio dropout problem than that discussed in the sound audio dropout thread...

Who says????? Over the holidays I was watching some show that Dish seemed to have all the commercials. They were loud. Dish commercials are bad offenders.
