IR 5.3 and UHF 6.x remote for VIP -622 / IR remote is messed up

I have a question: I currently have a 5.3 IR remote for TV1 and a 6.3 UHF remote for TV 2. Lately, the 5.3 IR remote for TV1 has been acting up (I have to go right up to the receiver to get it to flip channels). After about 20 mins of turning on the receiver, the IR 5.3 remote starts...

    Retailer Chat Recap - July 10, 2008

Maybe they will freeze those of us who have HD Absolute @ 29.99 and just will not make it available to additional subscribers after 8/1? So, if you have it, will you be able to keep it without a price increase or change in programming?

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

you should be fine. why let it collect dust? Good receiver deserves a good home. :)

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

Probably. Personally, I think if a new customer tries to activate a 921 or 942, they might offer them a free upgrade or something. I doubt dish would turn away a subscriber based on their receiver (esp. if they didn't have Dish and they were a new customer). Existing customer, probably not...

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

The KEY points in your post are the fact that this does NOT affect 721 receivers that are already "in the field" activated and installed. This only affects DISH not being able to deploy any more into the field. NO WHERE does it say CUSTOMERS are barred from using, deactivating or reactivating...

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

Thank you for this post. :) I hope it helps OTHERS who are planning to buy a 721 from online auction sites or a retailer (provided there are retailers selling used 721s).

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

I know it's not a MPEG-4 receiver, it's MPEG-2. :D I saw a post earlier that stated to the OP the reason he wasn't able to activate it was because it did or did not have MPEG-4 (cause dish is moving to MPEG-4 only in HD). I think people confuse it with the 722 (just one number makes a...

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

You are correct. There's no arguing whether or not someone read that injunction and did some research or whether or not everyone should always check receivers before bidding on Ebay. The OPs original post was about why Dish would not allow his receiver to be activated. Later on down the...

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

The number of posts has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the misinformation in this thread. I have first hand knowledge whereby a 721 on a certain someone's account was permitted a transfer -- PERIOD. And that was just a few weeks ago. No back door tricks, no trying to pull a fast one. No...

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

The posters here are correct????? Which ones? I see some that are absolutely incorrect and a few that contain misinformation and confusion. Exactly how did the OP get ripped off?

Dish won't activate my receiver, why??

I've never seen so much MIS-INFORMATION in one thread in my life. Seriously, some of you need to do your research before you go running off on a wild tangent. ...I've bought and SOLD my old receivers on Ebay without a problem -- EVER. You do NOT need to be a retailer to get a good...

    Compatible Hard Drive 622

So, if I forgot to delete my recordings from my old 622 HD, does that mean the new recipient of my old HD will be able to view/watch my recordings? I thought I read somewhere that the 622 automatically reformats a drive in its entirety when another drive is placed into it.

    Compatible Hard Drive 622

I got that part. What i wanted to know was if I sold the old drive from my 622 to someone else with a 622 or 722, will they be able to use the old drive from my 622? Or will their 622 or 722 reject the drive from my 622? Thanks

    Compatible Hard Drive 622

Alright, one last question: If I'm upgrading my DVR 622 drive, can I take the original drive that came with the 622 and sell it to somebody else? If so, will their 622 or 722 be able to use the drive? Do I have to format it before I give it to them or will their DVR automatically...

Outdoor OTA antenna INSIDE the house

Yeah, it simply blows my mind that I was struggling to get good reception without dropouts outdoors. And I had a clear open view of sky, so it couldn't have been due to obstructions. I mean at one point, i was out in the rain adjusting the antenna. Then, boom, I gave up on it, brought it into...

Outdoor OTA antenna INSIDE the house

Yeah... Wifey doesn't like it in the house, so will probably have to move it, but I bought myself a week or so to find another place for it. Somebody said something about a "transmitting" antenna. How can you tell if it transmits? I'm assuming that only broadcasters have those, right...

Outdoor OTA antenna INSIDE the house

After struggling with the VIP 622 and the OTA tuner, I just realized that I get a crystal clear signal from INSIDE my house with the OTA outdoor antenna. The problem is, it's sitting in my living room. Maybe a dumb question, but is there any problems (health or otherwise) with having...

If i have a PVR without DVR fees, can I sell it to someone else?

I did, but guess what? They said I could. --- however, that doesn't really mean jack. Not knocking them per se, but you can call them and get one of their people to tell you just about anything you want to hear. I take everything they say with a big tablespoon of salt. :hungry:
