Returning Joey We Don’t Use Anymore

I deactivated a Joey and they didn’t ask for it back and didn’t charge me for it.

WRAL, WRAZ off Dish menu in North Carolina

I wonder if this is why there was an ad I just saw, specifically targeted at DISH customers, listing all the other stations that were taken off the air stating it’s over 200 channels that were removed, on a local station (Nextstar) that was removed but placed back on the air after a multi year...

Nexstar Media Group threatens largest local station blackout in TV history, according to DISH

I looked for location guard on chrome extensions and could not locate it. I edited my location to LA on my chrome browser and that didn’t work. It shows “oops something went wrong please reload the page and try again. Your DMA not detected” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nexstar Media Group threatens largest local station blackout in TV history, according to DISH

I would lose my Steelers football games as most of them broadcast on my local CBS Nexstar station. I know next Sunday will be on NBC though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So, I'm leaving Dish after 20+ years...

Just be sure not to call Suddenlink unless you really have to because they will charge you $60 to come to your house even if it’s their fault and it takes a message to the Better Business Bureau to get the fee removed. I had their Internet for a year but they’re supposed 400 Mb package which was...

Switching from 211 signal to Joey signal on boat when coming ashore

I have connected a wireless device (making it a wireless bridge) to a Joey a while back (that wasn’t a wireless Joey) and got it to work. A hardwired Ethernet has a limit of around 330 feet so it might give me a little more. Sent from my iPhone using SatelliteGuys

Switching from 211 signal to Joey signal on boat when coming ashore

His home is on shore his Joey runs off of the Hopper. I figured a modulator was needed for the Joey since there is no coax output. If he does not want a wireless Joey or the wireless will not reach but wants a switch that will switch the dish outputs from the boat dish to the dish on shore...

Switching from 211 signal to Joey signal on boat when coming ashore

I have a guy that has an automated dish for his 211 while on the boat. He wants to switch to the Joey when he comes ashore. He wants it as simple as plugging it into the boat when he connects his phone and other stuff up and be able to push a button to change the satellite feed from his boat...

DISH to Become National Facilities-based Wireless Carrier

I have been thinking for a while that Dish needed to get into the wireless business in order to continue as a business, to be able to diversify and bundle. I have also been thinking for a while that LEO satellites is the future for communication (data, phone, tv, etc). I am very very surprised...

DISH & 5G Discussed on TWiT (This Week in Tech)

I first started watching Leo Laporte back in the early 2000's on Dish Network when it was ZDTV then Tech Tv then G4 TechTv. They relaunched the Screen Savers as The New Screen Savers online. I always thought they would relaunch shows online eventually. They ended The New Screen Savers the end...

DISH Network Reports Second Quarter 2019 Financial Results

With a profit margin much less than satellite I am sure but their expense is much less too and with some price increases it will start to catch up. I knew years ago that internet streaming would take over as the primary source eventually.

Directv had the messages feature on some of their receivers too if I am not mistaken. I think I remember a few messages in the past on the legacy receivers.

Other than certain reasons (posted below), why would one need to subscribe to their locals?

To record the local channels on a DVR to playback later, autohop, to transfer to a tablet or phone to take it on the go, dishanywhere to view at other locations live or recorded shows later on, to watch on demand content which requires credentials to your provider to watch those shows. Sent...

    why would someone leave dish

Someone would leave simply because it’s getting too expensive and there are lots of choices now like Netflix and other streaming services now along with mobile phones and divides where people take the service with them with their apps and devices. Dish Network's Charlie ergen in FCC crosshairs over wireless buildout

He has kept a secret perhaps and don’t want the competition to find out. How many of these and at what distance from each other would these downlinks/uplinks have to be in order for it to be at FCC requirement? It was mentioned that it was going to be IOT related so is he basically going to...

Dish Network's Charlie ergen in FCC crosshairs over wireless buildout

Perhaps Dish is at least trying to get this deployed in this manner to show that they are available in the number of market penetration required to keep the license to buy them more time. This may be a cheap way to get deployed as well or an experiment one of many ways that they could deploy...
