    smart card ???

He is saying that it is a chip soldered onto the board of your receiver. My receiver has a card slot, but it is empty (no card). Still, my receiver is working just fine and reports a smart card number on the info screen. What does yours say on the info screen?

why won't Dish fix their idiotic guide issues?

Is that legally possible? I would expect that the all that provider data is copyrighted and that Dish would have to pay license fees to all those different entities to be able to directly use that data.

Watching Dish TV at nursing home

No matter what the truth may be, do you think that it is more likely that they would say: A. No, we don't allow that and no one else does either, so don't look at other places, keep your loved one (and the associated money) here. -Or- B. Well, we don't allow it, but other places may. Please...

    Dish Network 5G Internet?

I believe that Verizon is the only carrier still supporting 3G, but they are turning that off at the end of this year (2022).

    HBO problem on Dish..

HBO Max stopped working on both of my FireSticks. It said that my subscription through Dish had expired. I had to sign out of both, and go back though the whole authorization thing with a PC for both.

    Strange OTA Problem

Did you try it with the antenna not connected to the adapter, just to see if you could get to the scan channels part? If it would work (no channels received, of course) without the antenna, it might point to a ground imbalance or some such issue.

    Dish Network 5G Internet?

This fits. I have a Genesis G80 that is going to lose its data services (long distance remote start and such) at the end of the year due to 3G being turned off. And 3G is being turned off at least in part due to being replaced by 5G (and LTE before that).

    We Must Be Getting Close

Unfortunately, that one wouldn't work for me. It is IR only, so it couldn't control my Fire Stick or my lights, and it couldn't be controlled from my home automation. The hub /w remote really is (okay - was) a great setup.

    We Must Be Getting Close

AFAIK, they no longer manufacture any. Maybe selling off new-old-stock, or refurbs? I get "unavailable nearby" and no option to order one. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/logitech-harmony-elite-remote-control-and-smart-hub-black/4314901.p?skuId=4314901

    New H3 software

It seems like what they lack is any group to do full regression testing on all the different versions of H3 hardware that they have fielded, and also they may not be testing with all the different ways that users have set options on their H3s. There's also all the different setups with...

    TV Turns itself on

Yes, that could be interesting. I have an auto tune timer to set the channel to the local news every morning. I was a little surprised to see that it also turns the hopper on (green light is on already when I come down in the morning). In my case, it is not turning my surround receiver or my...

DIY home security camera system channel?

Way back when OTA TV channels were still analog, I modulated the output of my security DVR and combined it with the OTA antenna feed. That way, it was just a different channel to tune to, either via the Dish OTA tuner, or the TV's tuner. After moving to the digital age, I have a network NVR...

Should I go to Dish for a challenging Antenna installation and hookup?

That's not RF, and it's not even a coax connector. I don't see how that could help at all here?

What's with the double cast listings?

I noticed last night that the travel channel was showing the program listings for the local ABC channel. The record timers for that channel seemed to still be working correctly though. (The recorded programs were titled, pictured, and described as though they were the shows on ABC instead.)

    OTA Dongle

No. They were talking about with the booster, since that is what you asked about. No, power is not output to the antenna RF connection. Power for your booster would have to come from a direct connection or a power inserter made specifically for your booster added in-line between the tuner...

Dish remote code for Toshiba Fire TV

Does your TV remote have a voice button on it? If so, it might be a bluetooth (RF) remote instead of an IR remote. Fire Sticks come with bluetooth remotes.
